Jack O’Connor has stepped down as Kildare manager after two seasons in charge with Tom Cribbin the favourite to take over the role.

In a statement, O'Connor cited the long commute between his home in South Kerry and Kildare as the main reason for stepping down.

The Kerry native took over the Lilies in 2020 on a three-year deal, to be reviewed after two years but he will not see out his final year with

former Westmeath, Offaly and Laois manager already backed into 1/2 favourite from 3/1 to fill the spot.""

We have also seen support for Davy Burke to become O’Connor’s replacement. The former Wicklow manager is 13/8 from 10/11 while Glen Ryan and Niall Carew are next in the betting at 12/1.
