Social Media Star Kayleigh Trappe Leads The Way In Early Betting
Bookie BoyleSports has suspended betting on the next host of RTÉ 2FM’s Drivetime after a significant gamble on TikTok sensation Kayleigh Trappe taking the hotseat.
It was reported on Monday morning that Lottie Ryan would be leaving the national broadcaster’s most listened-to slot after just three weeks at the helm and speculation is building about who will replace her.
Trappe, who has a TikTok following of over 150,000 plus 288,000 followers on Instagram, had been as big as 40/1 for the top job at 2FM but traded as short as 1/5 before it was reported that she could be behind the mic as early as this Friday. The online sensation has garnered such a massive following thanks to her hilarious impressions of notable Irish stars along with other sketches.

Other Contenders For Drivetime Hot Seat
Other likely candidates included comedian and podcaster Joanne McNally who was tipped to join 2FM alongside fellow My Therapist Ghosted Me host, Vogue Williams, while National Lottery and Official Chart Show host Bláthnaid Treacy was also a strong candidate having been as short as 9/2 third favourite.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“We’ve had plenty of drama at RTÉ HQ this year and it doesn’t seem to be ending. Lottie Ryan is the latest star to leave the Montrose campus and Kayleigh Trappe looks almost certain to take up a seat on Drivetime.”
