Louis Saha: Luis Enrique Is the Best Manager in the World

Speaking exclusively with BoyleSports , Manchester United hero Louis Saha has explained why Cristiano Ronaldo would welcome Lionel Messi to the Saudi Pro League.

The former France international has also tipped Thierry Henry to one day manage Arsenal and explained why it might be hard for Wayne Rooney to go back into management.

Six-Way Title Race

Arsenal have been competing with Manchester City and Liverpool, so those three are in, I can see Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs also being up there.

Spurs won the Europa League and changed their manager, which I really don’t understand, but they have potential, as do Newcastle, and I really respect what they did last year.

I think we will see six teams fighting it out for the title, Manchester United are behind that.

Promoted Sides Need Investment

The gap is getting bigger. When you look at teams like Everton or Wolves, they are sides that can hurt the big teams, and it makes it so hard for teams that are lacking experience.

Even if you are playing well, one or two mistakes and you get punished. In the Championship, you can get away with it, but not in the Premier League. look at teams like Newcastle and Fulham; they will punish you.

Big defeats can destroy your confidence, and it’s so much harder to control the ball, and they will realise that it’s a different level. Sunderland, Burnley and Leeds will need to invest to stay up, like Fulham have done. Everton look stronger under David Moyes. The teams are improving, and the gap will get bigger.

Enrique Best In The World

Luis Enrique is the best manager in the world at the moment. Winning, but winning the way he has done and improving players like Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha.

He built a team with energy and a respect for attacking football and flexibility, he has allowed the talent to shine through. It was an unbelievable achievement, and it’s even more direct than Barcelona and Man City over the years.

He has led the players, and now Dembele is going to win the Ballon d’Or, but he is humble and works hard, providing space for Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola. These players have the right attitude, and it’s showing. The players had a wake-up call and know that they are not bigger than the club. But it was an incredible season, and football needed that from PSG and Luis Enrique.

Muniz Is Complete

Rodrigo Muniz is a very complete striker. You can see he's a very passionate guy. He respects the system of Fulham, a team that has grown in confidence and can upset any team in the league.

They can hope for Europe next year and success in the cups because Marco Silva has done a tremendous job, they have the two options up front, and although it would be a shame for them to lose Muniz, I think he would be a real asset for Manchester United or Liverpool.

He is a player that can upset the big teams and is in a side that plays good football. If he stays, they could even lift a trophy next season.

Upset With Sancho And Rashford

I’m upset with players like Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. Look at Jadon Sancho, if you put him in the PSG team or the Real Madrid team, he would do damage, but only once in every three games: he’s not consistent.

It’s like he’s playing against himself. Maybe the structure of a club like Juventus might help him. At the moment, his talent is being wasted. It’s all about his mentality, and that’s why he hasn’t been able to perform. He has shown glimpses at Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, but he may not be happy with how things are going.

He can be happy, though, because he has so much ability and a great opportunity in front of him.

Ronaldo Deserves His Lucrative Contract

Cristiano Ronaldo is an ambassador for football in Saudi Arabia, and he has attracted so many high-quality and young players out there. Ronaldo deserves his new contract because, even at his age, he has stayed at the top and proved that in the games he has played recently.

It’s an amazing achievement, and he deserves his new deal; he would probably deserve a billion a week for what he has done for football in society.

He is 40, but he works like he is 25 with his passion; it’s unbelievable. He has a legacy in the Middle East and in the world in general; he deserves the contract more than any other player in the world. No athlete has done that.

He understands the impact of his name, and I really respect what he's done and what he's doing and what he's trying to achieve. He still wants to be at his best, and what he is doing at his age is incredible. Manchester United have players that are 25 and acting like they’re 40; he is the opposite.

World Cup Win For Ronaldo?

I want to see Cristiano Ronaldo play well at the 2026 World Cup, but winning it is a different question.

I’m definitely a supporter of France, and I think we have a big, big chance to lift this trophy. But Portugal and Cristiano and what they represent, I want to see his legacy to be the highest possible level, and the World Cup will definitely show that.

If he wins the World Cup at his age, he has done it all.

Saudi’s Will Want Messi

Lionel Messi joining Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi would be huge for the Middle East, people would turn on their TVs like they have in the US, and it would be special.

I’m not sure what Messi wants. I don’t think he is looking for money, but Saudi want the best players in the world, and he is a magnet for fans. The only thing I can’t understand is why you would pick the US to end your career and then go to Saudi Arabia. It’s unexpected.

Ronaldo Would Welcome Messi

Cristiano will want more big players out there, and it’s starting to get very competitive; we have seen that in the Club World Cup.

The people in Saudi will want to continue making the league as big as they can. Ronaldo is a competitor, and he wants to win; he hasn’t won trophies like he would want out there.

It would be nice to see the competition within the competition.

Zidane Perfect For France Job

I think Zinedine Zidane has been waiting for a very, very long time for the France job. He hasn’t taken any other job because he's waiting for the national team job, so it will be logical.

Every French fan is almost waiting for that because although we won a lot with Didier Deschamps, we want a change. People claim that it's time for a change.

Zidane definitely represents this change. The era of Deschamps was good, very pragmatic, but sometimes too much. From the media, from the fans, they are asking for something different.

The teams could be playing more offensive football. Total respect, he has done really well and won the World Cup, an unbelievable achievement – but it’s normal for there to be a new cycle.

Henry Loves Football!

I would like to see Thierry Henry manage in the Premier League, and I think he deserves it. He loves football so much, and lots of other coaches have got opportunities when he hasn’t.

Some guys retire and get big Premier League jobs, and I don’t always understand it. I think Thierry should get an opportunity, and he has experience now.

He has improved as a manager and did really well with the French under-21s, despite not lifting the trophy in the end. His knowledge is unbelievable, and it would be great to see him managing Arsenal one day.

Henderson’s Sunderland Return

I think it's a good move. He’s still an amazing player, and it would be a great story to see him returning to the club. He’s still fit and efficient in his position; it makes sense.

Replacing Calvert-Lewin

In the last two years, Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t been performing to the level he could have. He is a player that has the potential to play for England, but it hasn’t been happening.

As an individual, he needs to reflect on that. If the club can’t see that happening, then maybe it is time to move on. If he was scoring 20 goals, you could see why he might want to leave, but I would like him to stay at Everton and fulfil that potential.

Wrexham’s Championship Challenge

This is the biggest step for Wrexham; they need to adapt their structure to the Championship. They already have good players, but it’s a big step, it’s a big year, and it will not be easy. We saw Leeds and Sunderland struggle for so long; Wrexham need to find the formula.

Their owners are smart guys; they just have to find the answers. There are big names and big teams in the Championship; Wrexham need to find consistency and pick up a few players. It’s all about making fewer mistakes than your opponents; that is the nature of the game. You have to learn what the Championship is all about.

Scottish Sides Weak vs The Premier League

Early in my career, I was considered for a move to Scotland, but it never materialised.

When it comes to both teams now, it’s hard to compete in Europe due to the Premiership. When you are almost guaranteed to be at the top every year, it does provide a bit of a comfort zone, and for going up a level to Europe it's hard.

Celtic and Rangers can get trampled over by Premier League sides, with all due respect, they have won so many trophies, but it is hard to compete now.

Rooney To Punditry

Wayne Rooney has some great views to share to the public; I think previously his target has been to be on the bench coaching a good team, which hasn’t really worked out.

I think he can do a great job, but it will be hard to switch back, we saw that with Roy Keane and Gary Neville, they wanted to be managers but realised it’s not that easy, Gary Neville found out that he was better as a pundit than a coach, so we will see.
