A delighted Dublin customer is better off to the tune of more than €12,000 after a shrewd day of punting at Leopardstown this weekend.
The customer placed a €4 yankee and got Irish Champions Weekend off to the perfect start when Aidan O’Brien’s Nelson delivered in the Juvenile Stakes at 4.00 on Saturday at 11/2.
Having followed up with Laws of Spin at 14/1 in the 4.35, it was left to 25/1 shot Decorated Knight’s shock win in the Irish Champions Stakes to secure the lucky Dubliner a total payout of €12,766.
The punter was denied an even bigger payout when 13/2 Roly Poly, the third leg of the yankee, finished sixth behind Hydrangea in the 5.35.
It sure was a near miss for the Dubliner who had our traders sweating with a savvy bunch of picks but we tip our hats regardless, especially after they picked out 25/1 shot Decorated Knight who upset the odds in the Champion Stakes and upset our traders even more having to pay out a cool €12,766.

Had Roly Poly delivered the punter would have walked away with a jaw-dropping €110,000.""
