Bobbi Arlo Leads The Way In Latest Eurosong Betting
Bobbi Arlo has been backed into odds-on favourite with BoyleSports to be picked as the Irish representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
The Blessington-born singer has appeared on Niall Horan’s personal Spotify playlist and is already a hit at the bookies having been gambled down to 8/11 from 5/2 as she prepares to do battle with five other acts on this week’s Late Late Eurosong special.
The winner will fly the flag for Ireland at this year’s contest in Switzerland in May and will be charged with ending a lengthy streak without a victory in the competition for Ireland, which dates back to Eimear Quinn’s success in Oslo in 1996.
Quinn will be one of the interested onlookers in the RTÉ studio on Friday along with Cork singer-songwriter Bambie Thug, whose sixth-place finish in Malmö last year represented Ireland’s best finish since 2000.
Samantha Mumba Hoping To Be Irish Act In Switzerland This May
They will also be running the rule over Irish pop icon Samantha Mumba, who is the 4/1 second favourite to see off the competition and book a ticket to the bash in Basel with her song ‘My Way.’
Norwegian-born TikTok sensation EMMY, who has amassed over one million followers on the app, is also rated as strong competition to Bobbi Arlo according to odds of 5/1.
Galway’s Reylta (6/1), Limerick indie-pop star NIYL (7/1) and Donegal singer-songwriter Adgy (12/1) complete the line-up hoping to woo the voting public, as well as the national and international juries who combine to determine the winner.
Ireland are currently 16/1 to win Eurovision 2025 and it will be fascinating to see if those odds change following the result of Eurosong this Friday on the Late Late Show.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “We’ve been falling flat at Eurovision for years, but there’s an eclectic mix in line to put things right. Bobbi Arlo’s song is certainly striking a chord with punters and she is the one they think could get Ireland back on song.”
