Belgium Euro 2024 Odds, Tips, Fixtures & Betting Preview

As we gear up for what promises to be an explosive Euro 2024, we have sat down to preview one of the tournament favourites Belgium.

Belgium Euro 2024 Odds 

Belgium have been handed odds of 14/1 to win Euro 2024. Those odds suggest that the country has just a 6.7% chance of success in the tournament.

Those odds put Belgium as sixth favourites for the competition behind market leaders England 3/1 and France 7/2. The chasing pack ahead of them are Germany 5/1 along with Spain and Portugal who are both 8/1.

Belgium’s Euro 2024 Group Odds 

Belgium’s best Euro finish was when they were runners-up in 1980, they are joined in the group by Slovakia who won the competition in 1976, Romania who reached the Quarter-Finals in 2000 and Ukraine who did the same in 2020.

Belgium are expected to win their group currently with the side priced at 2/5 to win Group E, Ukraine and Romania are their most likely challengers to top the table priced at 11/2 and 6/1 respectively. Slovakia are seen as outside contenders to win the group at 10/1.

How Belgium Qualified For Euro 2024

Belgium booked their tournament ticket qualifying with an unbeaten record of 6 wins and 2 draws from their 8 matches against Austria, Sweden, Azerbaijan and Estonia. They scored a solid 22 goals across those matches and conceded only 4.

Head Coach – Domenico Tedesco

Tedesco was appointed manager of the Belgium national team on 8 February 2023, on a contract due to run until the end of UEFA Euro 2024. Despite being relatively young for a manager (38), he has already amassed 6 years of coaching experience with the likes of Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig.

He has described his coaching philosophy as "I always want my teams to divide the space well. I like to compare it to a boxer, who should never let his guard down. On top of that, we want to win the ball back as often as possible because we love attacking - although always with a certain balance and structure, to be able to control any transitions."

From his first 12 games in charge, he has guided them to 8 wins and 4 draws with a win rate of 66.67%.

Players to Watch

Star Player – Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian Brute has been seemingly around forever but given the young age he debuted at back in 2009 for Anderlecht 15 years later, Lukaku is still only 30 and arguably in his prime! He’s played for plenty of Europe’s elite and on loan with Roma this season he scored 20 goals and assisted 4 times from his first 44 matches.

Lukaku brings a real strength to the Belgian attack and will be used as an outlet to hold up the ball and link up the play as well getting in on the end of any chances created for him from the likes of De Bruyne and Trossard. Lukaku has been flying for Belgium of late with 15 goals from 9 games in 2023 with 14 of those in qualifying putting him top of the scoring charts.

Breakout Star – Jeremy Doku

The Man City winger Doku (21) is a throwback to the wingers of years gone by, even in a Guardiola system which is militantly robotic his show-stopping skills and elite dribbling ability are bound to entertain those tuning into Belgium games at Euro 2024.

Doku averages 10.93 Progressive Carries, 5.83 Successful Take-Ons and Touches in the Attacking Penalty Per 90 which puts him in the 99th percentile for all wingers in football. He’s a competent passer and finisher though and from limited minutes with his club this year from his first 41 games got 6 goals and 8 assists an average of 0.59 goals per 90.

Doku has been capped by Belgium 20 times and has scored twice but I’m expecting him to have an explosive tournament at Euro 2024.
