A change to the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution has shortened into 1/7 from 1/6 ahead of Government’s proposed agreement to holding a referendum on Monday.
No change drifted from 7/2 to 9/2.
Ministers are expected to formally agree to a referendum on the Eighth Amendment at a special Cabinet meeting on Monday evening after Taoiseach Leo Varadkar confirmed at the weekend that he will campaign for a liberalisation of Irish abortion laws.
The Taoiseach also received a boost in the opinion polls at the weekend which put Fine Gael six points clear of Fianna Fáil and saw him supported into 4/9 from 10/11 to lead the country beyond the next General Election.
