BoyleSports have paid out on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be the next permanent manager of Manchester United after the former striker was confirmed as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Just 24-hours after Jose Mourinho was sacked from his post as manager, following a disastrous start to the season for United, a caretaker has been announced.

Punters who have backed anyone else in the "Next Permanent Manager" market will still see their bets remain valid until the club appoints a permanent replacement.

Solskjaer was initially priced as a 5/1 shot to take over the reins from Mourinho at Old Trafford, however, BoyleSports quickly saw support begin to grow and his odds snowballed to the odds-on price of 1/3 before the firm made the conscious decision to pay out on the Norwegian.

Laurent Blanc had also been heavily supported from 5/1 to 7/2 in the next permanent manager market.

With Solskjaer confirmed to be over the club for the rest of the season, attentions have turned to see who will lead the club at the beginning of the 2019/20 season. At 9/4 Soskjaer is the current favourite with Mauricio Pocchettino next at 3/1 and Zinedine Zidane priced at 4/1.

Laurent Blanc, despite firm support in the next manager market, is a 14/1 shot to manage the Red Devils on the first day of next season.
