Man City v Club Brugge Preview
Man City’s Form
City has been dominating football for the best part of a decade including winning 7 of the last 11 Premier League titles. They initially struggled to take that form into the Champions League until they finally landed the Champions League in 2023 when they defeated Inter 1-0.
This year though they’ve struggled to find consistency across competitions currently 4th in the Premier League and 25th in the league phase of this competition.
It’s been a tale of two halves in the Champions League this season for City, opening it with a 0-0 home draw against Inter, a 0-4 win over Slovan Bratislava and a 5-0 demolition of Sparta Prague.
The wheels began to fall off in the fourth matchday though with a 4-1 defeat against Sporting and a 3-3 home draw with Feyenoord. More recently they had back-to-back defeats losing 2-0 against Juventus and collapsing to a 4-2 defeat against PSG last week which puts their qualifying hopes in serious jeopardy.
City must win to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Club Brugge’s Form
Club Brugge had a fantastic 23/24 season whereby they initially finished 4th in the Belgian Pro League regular season but would go on to win the Champions Play-Offs following a strong end-of-season run.
They also reached the Semi-Finals of both the Belgian Cup and Europa Conference League. They head into this game 2nd in the Belgian Pro League, 20th in the Champions League and also unbeaten in their last 20 games across competitions.
In the Champions League, they lost their opening game 0-3 against Dortmund before earning a 0-1 win over Sturm Graz. Their 3-1 defeat to Milan put them in a difficult qualifying position but their shock 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the fourth matchday reasserted their qualifying chances.
That win was followed by a 1-1 draw away against Celtic a 2-1 win over Sporting and a 0-0 home draw against Juventus.
Brugge are currently in an unseeded playoff spot but need a win to guarantee they stay there.

Key Players To Watch
Erling Haaland – Man City
The Norwegian freak of nature has recently agreed on a 9.5-year new deal with Man City, which would take his time at the club to June 2034 and so it’s likely we will see him terrorise defences in the Premier League at least until his “high” release clause is activated in 2029.
Haaland first goalscorer – 9/4
This season he’s scored 24 goals and 2 assists from 31 games in all competitions and after his goal at the weekend, he is 2/1 to score first or 4/9 to score at any time.
Christos Tzolis – Club Brugge
The Greek LW (22) has been the club's most consistent goal threat in the 24/25 season so far with 12 goals and 8 assists across 33 games in all competitions and has been recently linked with a move to Everton.
Tzolis anytime goal – 9/2
He is 16/1 to score first and 11/2 to score at any point in this game.
Man City v Club Brugge Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Man City 3-0 Club Brugge
Man City may have collapsed last week against PSG but showed resilience at the weekend coming from behind against Chelsea.
Club Brugge can’t be underestimated given their current unbeaten run, there will be a sense of injustice if they fall outside the playoff places.
The pressure is on City to perform, and I expect them to do so.
Best Bet: Man City Win + Under 3.5 Total Goals @ 11/8
Man City Win & Under 3.5 Total Goals – 6/4
