Eurovision Betting Semi-Final (1) Favourites
Israel 4/6 (To Win) 1/100 (To Qualify)
The favourite for the first Eurovision semi-final is Israel, who are currently the fourth favourites in the outright betting for the competition at odds of 12/1.
Israel has been very consistent on the Eurovision stage, partaking in the event 46 times since debuting in 1973 and has won the event on 4 occasions in 1978, 1979, 1998, and most recently in 2018 when the winner was “Toy” performed by Netta and written by Doron Medalie and Stav Beger.
However, due to the ongoing political conflict, many countries have come out saying that Israel should not be allowed to participate in the contest this year, but the contest organisers have stood firm with their involvement.
In terms of contest know-how, Israel are a shrewd operator and never seems far away from the top of the table, and in these last two events finished 3rd when Noa Kirel sang Unicorn in 2023 and 2024 came 5th when Eden Golan sang Hurricane. This year, they will be represented by Yuval Rapheal with the song New Day Will Rise.
Israel Semi-Final Win - 4/6
Finland 12/5 (To Win) 1/500 (To Qualify)
The second favourite for this semi-final 1 is Finland with odds of 12/5, suggesting a 29.4% chance that Erika Vikman with the song ICH KOMME can win the second semi-final.
Finland has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 57 times since making its debut in 1961, with their sole success coming in 2006 when Lordi participated with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah.
Their best recent performance was in 2023 with "Cha Cha Cha" by Käärijä, which won the public vote and came second overall in 2023, which is Finland's second-best result to date.
Finland Semi-Final Win - 12/5
Austria 7/2 (To Win) 1/250 (To Qualify)
Next in the betting for the first Eurovision semi-final is Austria, who are second favourites in the outright betting with odds of 9/4.
Austria have participated in the contest 56 times, with their first appearance coming in 1957, with their best results coming in both 1966 and 2014, where they won the Song Contest. More recently, “Nobody but You" by Cesár Sampson achieved Austria's eighth top-five result and second-best result of the 21st century at the 2018 contest, finishing third.
It was a poor year for the country in 2024 when they finished in 24th place with 24 points, but they’re expected to have a much stronger chance this year when JJ sings “Wasted Love”
Austria Semi-Final Win - 7/2
Malta 20/1 (To Win) 1/7 (To Qualify)
The fourth favourite for Semi-Final 1 is Malta at odds of 20/1 to win the first semi-final and 1/7 to qualify for the final. They’re represented by Miriana Conte and the song SERVING.
Malta has made 36 appearances at the Eurovision Finals, with their first appearance coming in 1971. Their best results have both come in 2002 and 2005 when they finished as runners-up. At last year's competition, they failed to qualify from their semi-final, finishing 16th.
Malta Semi-Final Win - 20/1
Czechia 50/1 (To Win) 1/8 To Qualify)
The fifth favourite for semi-final 1 is Czechia at odds of 50/1 to win and 1/8 to qualify for the final. They’re represented by ADONXS with the song Kiss Kiss Goodbye.
Czechia has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 12 times since making its debut in 2007. Their best performance came in 2017 when Mikolas Josef with the song Lie to Me finished in 6th place. At last year's contest, they failed to qualify from their semi-final when Aiko with Pedestal finished 11th.
Czechia To Qualify - 1/8
Ireland 50/1 (To Win) 8/11 To Qualify)
If you’re looking for Ireland's odds for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, they’re expected to qualify for the final at odds of 8/11 but are 66/1 to win the competition outright.
Ireland has made 56 appearances in the contest, the first coming in 1965. It’s been a poor few years for Ireland at the contest, but they remain the joint most successful country in the competition with their 7 successes coming in 1970, 1980, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1996, with Sweden levelling their total of 7 in 2023.
Bambi Thug represented Ireland and ended up placing in 6th place, which was the best result for the nation since Eamonn Toal also finished 6th in 2000 with the song Millennium of Love. This year, Ireland will be represented by Emmy with the song Laika Party.
Ireland To Qualify - 8/11
