Dublin’s Form
Dublin entered the 2024 GAA season following a 2023 season which saw them finish runner-up during the league stage of Division 2 of the National Football League with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss from their games against Derry, Louth, Cork, Kildare, Meath, Clare and Limerick. That league finish earned them promotion to Division 1 but more success was to follow with their Division 2 final victory against Derry by a score of 0-11 to 4-06.
Dublin took that form into the Leinster Championship where they won three rounds to reach the final against Louth who they overcame in the final by a 0-15 t0 5-21 scoreline. In the All-Ireland, they won Group 3 with Kildare, Roscommon and Sligo with 2 wins and 1 draw to qualify for the Quarter-Final where they beat Mayo 2-17 to 0-11. They couldn’t be stopped following a 1-17 to 0-13 Semi victory against Monaghan they won the final against Kerry 1-15 to 1-13.
However, Dublin have started the 2024 league campaign slowly with defeats coming 1-14 to 3-09 against Monaghan and a 1-12 to 0-14 defeat to Mayo. They got back to winning ways with a 1-19 to 1-12 victory against Roscommon in Round 3 and a brilliant 3-18 to 1-14 win against Kerry.

Key Players To Watch
Shane McGuigan
The main man for Derry last weekend was Full-Forward and Slaughtneil man Shane McGuigan who hit a tally of 0-7 including 6 frees to help them see off the challenge of Kerry in a 0-15 to 2-8 scoreline. He continued that run with 0-11 points including 5 from play against Galway and 1-02 against Galway.
Con O’Callaghan
The attacking maestro stamped his authority on the game against Kerry last time out scoring a total of 3-04 of Dublin’s 3-18 total to be the standout player on the field. Expect him to be the go player come Saturday again, and when in full-flight he’s probably the best footballer in the country.
Derry v Dublin Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Derry 0-14 Dublin 1-15
Derry have not only had the perfect start to their National League campaign with 4 wins from 4 games, but they’ve also had the better of Dublin in 2 of their last 3 games.
Dublin are currently in second in the National League, but without a victory in this game could fall out of the top two.
Derry should be weaker for this game with injury and rotation though and I think that gives Dublin the advantage.
Best Bet: Derry -2 @ 10/3
