The sixth season of The Hundred is fast approaching and we’re taking a look at which sides are expected to challenge for top honours.
Lord’s will again stage the final on August 16 and the competition for places in that decider will be fierce following significant overseas investment in each franchise, some of which have been renamed as a result.
Here, we have examined the outright betting for the men’s tournament and ranked all eight of The Hundred 2026 teams in reverse order:
Birmingham Phoenix
8. BIRMINGHAM PHOENIX @ 9/1
Just three wins last season saw the Edgbaston-based franchise fall to fifth and they may find it tough going again this year, with the supporting cast behind Jacob Bethell and Rehan Ahmed lacking real strength in depth.
Manchester Super Giants
7. MANCHESTER SUPER GIANTS @ 13/2
The 2022 and 2023 runners-up will be hoping a change of name from the Originals can help inspire a rejuvenation and much will depend on whether skipper Jos Buttler gets more help from South Africa ace Heinrich Klaasen this time around.
Trent Rockets
6. TRENT ROCKETS @ 13/2
The 2022 winners and last year’s beaten finalists have England duo Ben Duckett and Tom Banton to back up experienced Aussie Tim David , while wicket-keeper Sam Billings looks a shrewd acquisition in terms of providing on-field leadership.
Southern Brave
5. SOUTHERN BRAVE @ 7/1
Having lifted the trophy in their first season back in 2021 and reached the 2024 final , the Brave could only manage fourth place last term and need Jofra Archer and Jamie Smith to shine if they are to get back into a challenging position, although recruiting Adil Rashid gives them another useful weapon.
Welsh Fire
4. WELSH FIRE @ 15/2
After languishing at the foot of the table last term, the Fire have put a lot of faith in expensive acquisition Phil Salt to help turn things around, alongside fellow new recruit Jordan Cox , who scored the most runs in the 2025 tournament, England great Joe Root and South Africa’s Marco Jansen .
Sunrisers Leeds
3. SUNRISERS LEEDS @ 13/2
The Headingley-based team impressed for much of last season before just faltering at the business end and whether they can go the distance this time will depend largely on the form of England stars Harry Brook and Zak Crawley , tough Aussie Mitchell Marsh and Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed .
MI London
2. MI LONDON @ 10/3
Formerly known as the Oval Invincibles , the team that represents Surrey and Kent are chasing a fourth straight triumph in the men’s tournament, led by the ultra-competitive Curran brothers, Sam and Tom . The likes of Will Jacks, James Vince , former West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran and Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan add to the appeal of this proven outfit.
London Spirit
1. LONDON SPIRIT @ 11/2
Boosted by investment from a consortium of Silicon Valley tech entrepreneurs, including executives from Google and Microsoft , the Lord’s-based outfit are now coached by Andy Flower and spent big at the auction to bring in Sussex all-rounder James Coles .
With mercurial captain Liam Livingstone joined by Jonny Bairstow and Dewald Brevis , the Spirit batting line-up looks strong, while Australia spinner Adam Zampa and all-rounder Jamie Overton should do well with the ball in hand.
