The Dutchman has won the Premier League, the Matchplay and a World Series event this year but he has been eased out to 7/1 from 7/2 for the double-start event, which will be played at Leicester’s Morningside Arena and runs from October 3rd - 9th.
BoyleSports will be paying TOP PRICE on EVERY player to win the tournament.
Number one seed Gerwyn Price goes into the event buoyed by an amazing victory at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam earlier this month and BoyleSports have now clipped the Welshman into 4/1 favourite from 9/2, after the former world champion was handed a first round assignment against Germany’s Martin Schindler. That makes Price the new favourite after taking over from van Gerwen.
Runner-up in 2020, Dirk van Duijvenbode is rated at 28/1 to go one better ahead of his first round clash with defending champion Jonny Clayton.
The Ferret is yet to win a ranking event this year and has drifted out to 12/1 from 8/1 in the betting to successfully defend his crown having won the 2021 title beating fellow countryman Gerwyn Price 5-1 in the final.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “The draw for the 2022 BoyleSports World Grand Prix was made on Monday afternoon and five-time champion Michael van Gerwen has drifted in the betting.
