Windsor 13:20 – Moon Rocket

Although an odds-on loser last time out, a two-runner race at Doncaster would not have suited him and in a better class of race, the likely stronger pace should suit.

Moon Rocket had some solid form in good company over hurdles and was a comfortable winner on his debut over fences at Doncaster , so he is worth sticking with in the Grade Two Hampton Novices’ Chase.

Windsor 13:50 – Mirabad

A decent hurdler for Dr Richard Newland last term, he is already proving a better chaser after switching to Dan Skelton , as showcased by his fine effort in Grade Two company at Kempton over Christmas when third to the progressive Mambonumberfive .

A keen-going sort who had previously kept on well from the front to score at Exeter , Mirabad might be hard to peg back here.

Dan Skelton’s popular veteran defends his Fleur De Lys crown after putting in a superb front-running performance to beat Djelo by 23 lengths 12 months ago.

Title-chasing trainer Skelton has been brilliant at picking the most valuable races each horse in his stable can win, with this appearing to be another example.

Protektorat has had a wind operation since finishing a fair third at Cheltenham on his seasonal reappearance and the 11-year-old can belie his advancing years by registering a ninth career victory.

Thurles 15:20 – James Du Berlais

Willie Mullins is responsible for four of the five runners as he seeks to land the Grade Two Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase for the sixth time in seven seasons, including last year’s winner Appreciate It , the mount of Paul Townend.

However, Danny Mullins is no stranger to upsetting the perceived pecking order and James Du Berlais did well enough in behind Iroko and Firefox at Ascot just before Christmas to suggest he is running into form.
