Duo backed to net titles amid romance rumours
Emma Raducanu is being backed for a fairytale run at Wimbledon ahead of her third round clash with Aryna Sabalenka.
Radacanu has already seen off the challenges of Mimi Xu and Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets and while Sabalenka is set to pose a sterner test as 2/1 tournament favourite, BOYLE Sports has now slashed the odds on a historic home win for the British star into 20/1 from a high of 80/1.
Adding extra intrigue to Raducanu’s run is the off-court speculation surrounding a possible romance with defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz, with the duo set to team up in the mixed doubles at the US Open in August.
Radcanu Tipped For BBC Prize
The Spanish superstar is leading the charge for the men’s title again at odds of 6/5, raising the tantalising prospect of a dream double lifting SW19 silverware.
Raducanu’s exploits have also seen her odds clipped in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year betting, where she is now a 20/1 shot (from 100/1) to claim the prestigious prize for a second time.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
"A potential Wimbledon fairytale is capturing the imagination of the British public and punters are starting to dream that Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz could be a match made in heaven.”
