West Ham United Form Guide
West Ham United Form Guide
London Stadium and the West Ham United supporters proved the catalyst last Sunday for Nuno Espírito Santo to earn his first victory as Head Coach with an exceptional 3-1 win over Newcastle. He will be looking to make it back-to-back Premier League victories on Saturday against Burnley, and heads into the fixture with a solid coaching record of three wins, two draws, and three draws against Burnley.
The Hammers showed resilience and grit in abundance last weekend to come from behind against Newcastle following Jacob Murphy’s 4th-minute opener at London Stadium. Lucas Paquetá pegged back the game in the 35th minute with a well-placed outside the box shot before taking the lead through a Botman own goal in first half injury time after Wan Bissaka’s cross was turned in. Soucek then sealed the three points with a 97th-minute tap-in following a breakaway.
That victory could be just what West Ham United needed to turn their fortunes around this season and have an opportunity for another statement victory Saturday against the side directly above them. In their last six head-to-head matches, they’re unbeaten with three wins and three draws and look good value for another three points again.

Burnley’s Form Guide
Burnley were promoted back to the Premier League on their first time of asking last season when they finished runners-up in the Championship behind Leeds. It was still an exceptional campaign for the club, accumulating a tally of 100 points from 46 fixtures, meaning they only missed out on the title due to Leeds having a goal difference of +65 to their +53. Staying up was always going to be a completely different assignment, though, and this prompted a net spend of €-95.65m in the summer, including nine permanent signings .
It's been a mixed bag of results for Scott Parker's side to start the Premier League season, with ten points from their opening ten league games meaning putting them 17th, three clear of the relegation zone. However, their form in recent weeks has been stronger. Before their 0-2 defeat to Arsenal last weekend, they had gone back-to-back wins with a 2-3 triumph over Wolves and a 2-0 victory over Leeds.
Burnley have largely set themselves up in either a 5-4-1, 4-2-3-1 or 5-3-2 formation this season, where they have favoured a pragmatic defensive approach with organised pressing, which is in contrast to their more open style previously in the Premier League under Vincent Kompany. Despite that style, they retain the ability to go forward with their tally of twelve, better than seven other sides, including Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Key Players To Watch
Key Players To Watch
Lucas Paquetá - West Ham United
Brazilian Maestro was the main man on show against Newcastle last weekend with a Player of the Match display. It wasn’t just his 35th-minute equaliser which caught the attention; he was a constant threat, ending the game with 2 shots, 79 touches, 100% successful dribbles and 5 passes into the final third. Another big showing from Lucas Paquetá could be on the cards against Burnley.
Jaidon Anthony - Burnley
Burnley’s primary attacking threat this season has been Jaidon Anthony, who has 4 goals and 1 assist in 10 Premier League matches this season. The former Arsenal Academy player is an elite dribbler and could be in for an intriguing battle with Aaron Wan Bissaka this weekend.

West Ham United v Burnley Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: West Ham United 2-0 Burnley
West Ham United picked up a big victory last weekend, and they should be full of confidence to make it back-to-back victories.
Burnley have put together some decent results of late, and avoiding defeat here could be huge in their early-season survival hopes.
I’m not expecting buckets of goals, but I feel the Hammers will do enough to get over the line.
