Despite having the least form of any race at the Cheltenham Festival, the Champion Bumper is still incredibly popular amongst punters and Fayonagh is a horse at 16/1 that could have a big say.

Fayonagh A Fair Bet
Gordon Elliott’s filly does hold an entry for Sandown this weekend and that may be favoured, but with Non-Runner Cash Back in operation, last month's Fairyhouse winner should be backed for Wednesday’s finale.

The six-year-old absolutely skated in at Fairyhouse in a decent Mares' Winners Bumper and impressed so much that one could even suggest if she reverted for a tilt on the flat, it could prove fruitful.

There’s no way she should be a 16/1 shot. ""

The favourite Carter Mckay has won two decent bumpers this season and has also earned very positive quotes from his trainer but only one of Willie Mullins’ bumper winners at the Cheltenham Festival went off favourite and that’s an interesting aside.

Trends
A race with such a good record for Irish runners, the last two renewals were won by English-trained runners at odds of 5/1 and 9/2 but prior to that the winners of this race were 16/1, 25/1, 16/1, 14/1 and Cue Card was a 40/1 shot in 2010.

Debuchet looked impressive when winning at Leopardstown and a lot of the jockeys that rode in that race were impressed with how it ran. Someday has been a market mover of late and after overcoming some early season issues, he has since fulfilled the potential connections always felt he had.

So, it is going to be a typically wide open renewal but if Fayonagh can improve again from her first to her second start for Gordon Elliott, she could post another career best and definitely outrun her odds of 16/1.

Recommended Bet:
Fayonagh (16/1)
