US Open Favourites – Women’s Singles

Aryna Sabalenka – 5/2

The favourite for the 2024 US Open is the Belarusian force and World Number (2) Aryna Sabalenka (26) with odds of 5/2 suggesting a 28.6% chance of success in the tournament and going one better than her best-ever finish in the event's last year when she finished as runner-up.

Aryna has been playing on the pro tour since 2015 and can boast 15 Career Titles as well as a Career Record of 394-185 on the court. This year she has been in exceptional form with a Season Record 39-11 and 2 Calendar Titles following her victories in the Australian Open and the recent Cincinnati Open.

Victory at the 2024 US Open would bring her Grand Slam haul to 3 titles following two Australian Open successes and as the in-form player, she has major claims for success.

Iga Swiatek – 7/2

The second favourite for the 2024 US Open is World Number (1) Iga Swiatek (23) whose odds of 7/2 suggest a 22.2% chance that she wins her second-ever US Open title following her success in 2022.

Despite still only being 23, she has been playing on the pro tour since 2016 with a Career Record of 331–72 (82.1%) and 22 Career Titles to her name along with 5 Grand Slam successes coming at the French Open (2020), (2022), (2023) and (2024) as well as her US Open victory in (2022).

Victory at this event would extend her Grand Slam total to 5 victories in what has been a brilliant career already.

Coco Gauff – 8/1

Next in the betting is another one of the rising tennis stars Coco Gauf (20) at 8/1 who is seen as having an 11.1% chance of retaining her sole Grand Slam success which came at this event last year.

Coco is one of the brightest talents on tour with 8 Career Titles already along with a Career Record of 210–92. Despite her talent though, Coco has recently participated in the doubles game with her last singles campaign coming at Wimbledon last month where she reached the Quarter-Final.

Coco is one to keep onside in the betting market and at 9/1 represents solid value, it could be one of few times in her career that she will be this big of a price for a singles competition.

Elena Rybakina – 19/2

After Sabalenka and Swiatek their closest challenger is expected to be World Number (4) Elena Rybakina at odds of 19/2 suggesting a 9.5% chance she serves her way to a second Grand Slam title following her 2022 Wimbledon win.

Elena Rybakina currently holds a Career Record of 329–140 and 8 Career Titles. She has one Grand Slam to her name already in her career since turning pro back in 2016 with that coming when she was victorious at the 2022 edition of Wimbledon when she defeated Ons Jabeur in the final, 3–6, 6–2, 6–2.

Elena (24) is another part of the new tennis generation and will come into this event looking to add to her 3 Calendar Titles following her Brisbane International, Adelaide International and Abu Dhabi Open victories.

Jessica Pegula – 12/1

Rounding out the market leaders is World Number (5) Jessica Pegula (30) who will be looking to win her first-ever Grand Slam event since turning pro back in 2011.

Pegula is coming into the tournament in strong form following a 2024 season where she won her 5th Career Title at the WTA 500 2024 Berlin Ladies Open in June defeating top-seed Gauf in the final, She then successfully defended her title at the 2024 National Bank Open and reached the recent Cincinnati Open Final.

Pegula's best finish at the US Open was her Quarter Final appearance in 2023 and she came closest to Grand Slam success coming runner-up in the 2022 French Open. If things click into gear for her she certainly has the game to finally land a Grand Slam title.
