Three Premier League teams head into the unlucky 13th game with unbeaten records and Chelsea’s is the one that looks most under threat this weekend.
A trip to Wembley for the live evening game to play Tottenham should be Maurizio Sarri’s toughest assignment to date in the Chelsea dugout and you won’t often see 7/4 about Pochettino’s side at their (not so) temporary home.
There hasn’t been much fanfare about Tottenham’s start to the season but they’re only one point adrift of Saturday’s opponents having won 9 of their 12 games. Their last league game at home was against Manchester City and it ended in a 1-0 defeat, but that is forgivable against formidable opponents like City and following some previous NFL antics, the pitch was more suited to a Grand National than a Premier League fixture.
The Blues’ away record however is very pretty on the eye too and both teams to score backers will be hopeful given that Tottenham have only kept 1 clean sheet from 7 home fixtures in all competitions this season.
Spurs are the only Premier League side yet to register a draw this campaign and you wouldn’t be alone in backing today to be the day, but with the result so tough to call, both teams to score at 4/7 is sound for an accumulator and I’ll be happy once the net bulges at both ends.
Claudio Fulham’s Silver Lining
In the 3pm games, Fulham need a reversal of fortunes and the first thing Claudio Ranieri may want to tinker at the club is a defence which has leaked 8 goals in their last 2 home games.
Ranieri however is good value for instant impacts and his CV boasts first game victories at 5 of his last 6 clubs. He doesn’t have much to fear from Southampton today either as Mark Hughes wasn’t far behind predecessor Slavisa Jokanovic in the sack race.
While neither side have been prolific in front of goal, Fulham have just outscored their guests 11-8 this season so the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic could be the difference in a tight matchup like this. He scored in both of Serbia’s international break fixtures and Andre Schurrle has contributed four goals to the cause too.
The Cottagers have only one win of their own so far but that goal threat, coupled with the changing of the managerial guard, just gives me enough confidence to pencil them in for a home win at 8/5.
Sweet On Toffees
Cardiff have only 2 goals and 1 point to show for their games on the road this season while Everton’s home form is only bettered by Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Three of those sides have played a game more than the Toffees too, so I’d expect them to get the better of Neil Warnock’s strugglers today. Only one side has shipped more than the Bluebirds defence and Everton should have enough to breach such a feeble back line.
Their 2/5 price is fair enough but we’re just short of 5/1 when added with the other two selections and hopefully they’ll combine to ease the Christmas shopping burden

Scratch that and Spurs have scored in every home league game in 2018 and if they do so again Chelsea will be up against it.""
