Two Grade 1 winners Mega Fortune and Defi Du Seuil will go head to head in the Triumph Hurdle and if the weather forecast is accurate, this could be run on softer than usual ground which will make things very interesting.

Friday - Triumph Hurdle
Between that pair, I would be thinking Defi Du Seuil is probably the pick but the Triumph Hurdle is notoriously a difficult race to assess.

That said, the last two years have thrown up a winning favourite and many people across the water think that Defi Du Seuil is the British NAP of the meeting. It could be difficult to argue with that.

Mega Fortune benefited from cheek pieces at Leopardstown last time out, however, this could be another race to take the BoyleSports special into account. With money back as a free bet if you finish 2nd or 3rd to the SP Favourite, it might pay to back Alan King’s Master Blueyes.

There was no fluke about Master Blueyes winning at Kempton although he may not have got the credit he deserved that day because there was so much going on with Barry Geraghty getting a horrible fall off Charli Parcs.

Some people were trying to make a case for Charli Parcs staying on to challenge but we’ll never know what would’ve happened and Master Blueyes was a worthy winner on the day.

7/1 is quite appealing for a horse that will definitely handle the conditions and is trained by someone who knows exactly what it takes to train Cheltenham winners...""

...having won this race in particular with Katchit and Penzance.

Last year’s winner Ivanovich Gorbatov was the subject of a massive plunge in the lead up to the race and it’ll be interesting to see if any money arrives late for Joseph O’Brien’s runner this year, Landofhopeandglory.

Again, it can’t be overlooked that Joseph knows what it takes to prime a horse for this race and any money for the JP McManus runner will be significant. If O’Brien can get him back to the form of earlier in the season, he’d be up to making the frame.

Recommended Bet:
Master Blueyes (7/1)
