Tour de France Betting Favourites

Tadej Pogacar – 4/11

Ahead of the 2025 Tour de France, reigning champion Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar (26), who rides for the UAE Team Emirates XRG, is the clear front rider to win his fourth Tour de France title.

Tadej has been the most consistent rider on tour since it commenced in February at the UAE Tour, where the highlight of his event was when he won Stage 3 (sprint victory, beating Oscar Onley and Felix Gall). That was followed by a first-place finish at the Strade Bianche, a third place at the Milan-San Remo and a win at the Tour of Flanders at the start of April and a runner-up result at the Paris-Roubaix.

His form has gotten stronger as the season has progressed, and his runner-up result at the Amstel Gold Race was his last defeat; he has since rattled off successes in the La Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and most recently the Critérium du Dauphiné earlier this month.

Pogačar stands out as one of the most complete riders in the sport, with his remarkable versatility being the key factor in his impressive achievements. He possesses the climbing prowess to rival the elite in the mountains, a crucial asset for the Tour de France. Additionally, his sprinting capability allows him to surprise competitors and bridge gaps when necessary. He's a heavy favourite with good reason.

Jonas Vingegaard – 9/4

Next in the betting for the 2025 Tour de France is Dane Jonas Vingegaard for Team Jumbo-Visma, who won the race in two successive years, 2022 and 2023.

The Danish Rider clinched consecutive Le Tour titles in 2022 and 2023 and was favourite for a third title in 2024, but was outraced by Pogacar, whom he had beaten in previous years. However, it was not to be with the Slovenian snatching the yellow jacket by a margin of a little over six minutes. Though he did enter the race carrying an injury from earlier in the 2024 season.

The 2025 Cycling season has been a mixed bag of results for Vingegaard. He opened it with a first-place general classification victory at the Volta ao Algarve. However, at the Paris-Nice race, he abandoned the race after a crash at stage 5, which led to his withdrawal from the Volta a Catalunya.

At the recent Critérium du Dauphiné, he was back on form, finishing runner-up 58 seconds behind Tadej Pogačar in the general classification. If he can build on that performance, 9/4 may be the more value betting play.

Remco Evenepoel – 10/1

Remco Evenepoel (25) is the third favourite for the 2025 Tour de France with team  Soudal Quick-Step after finishing third at last year’s event and becoming the first Belgian to win the race since Lucien Van Impe nearly fifty years ago.

Remco is someone whose cycling stature has risen in the last 12 months, including at the Olympics last summer in Paris, when he won both the road race and time trial events.

His best performances in 2025 were at the De Brabantse Pijl when he won his first race in 6 months, and more recently at the Critérium du Dauphiné, where he won the stage 4-time trial, beating Jonas Vingegaard by 20 seconds and Tadej Pogačar by 49 seconds, briefly taking the race lead before finishing fourth overall.

He will require a career-best performance to win the 2025 Tour de France.

João Almeida – 16/1

Another market leader is João Almeida, who, like race favourite Tadej Pogačar, rides for the UAE Team Emirates XRG racing team.

João Almeida finished 4th overall in his Tour de France debut in 2024, supporting Tadej Pogačar while achieving the best result by a Portuguese rider since 1979.

His best result in 2025 was when he won the Giro d’Italia, securing his first Grand Tour victory with a dominant performance, including a stage win and holding the pink jersey for most of the race. It’s hard to see him getting the preferential nod over his teammate, though.

João Almeida to win - 16/1
