Antonio Conte’s side go into the match four points adrift of their rivals in the race for the final Champions League spot, but Sawyer told BoyleSports she believes the rescheduling of the fixture will fall in Tottenham’s favour.

She said: “This match was supposed to be played back in January, but Tottenham will be glad they are playing it now. January signings are flourishing, and their confidence is on the up."

“Tottenham are one of the best teams at counter-attacking. That pace that Son brings to the team is brilliant and if you have someone like Harry Kane that can also play deep, as he has done, and pick out those balls, then it’s going to be a real weapon.

“They were so organised in their performance against Liverpool, they had discipline, courage and the threat you need against a team like Liverpool. It would be a shame if they didn’t show similar against Arsenal.

"Even though the pressure is all on them as Arsenal could afford to lose and still finish in the top four, they are unbeaten in seven at home against Arsenal and I think they will win.”

Sawyer also bemoaned the situation surrounding Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, who is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave the club on a free transfer despite a run of form that has seen him score four goals in his four appearances before Thursday’s clash at Tottenham.

“In recent years at Arsenal, even going back to the end of Arsene Wenger’s reign, things haven’t been sorted when they should have been,” added Sawyer.

“Maybe with Eddie Nketiah, they didn’t see a future for him and for whatever reason Mikel Arteta has called on him and it’s working. Nketiah is sending a message to everyone – give me a call at the end of the season because I can do a job for you.

"He is enjoying the opportunity he is getting, he was persistently pressing against Leeds and it’s been a really strong end of the season for him."

“It's a shame for Arsenal they haven’t secured his services.”
