Tottenham v Man United Preview
Tottenham’s Form
Ange Postecoglou’s tenure at Tottenham hangs in the balance, and even if on Wednesday Night they secure their first major trophy since their 2008 League Cup may still not be enough to secure his post for next season. However, it’s impossible to argue that their form on the whole has been poor and with 1 game remaining in the league are in 17th place and look on course for their worst Premier League finish unless results go their way next weekend.
In Europe, though, Spurs have been stronger opening the league phase the finishing 4th on 17 points to automatically qualify for the knockout stages. Since the knockout stages, it’s usually been the second leg where they’ve turned on the style, in the Round of 16 overcoming a 1-0 loss to AZ to win 3-2 and in the quarter-final they earned a 0-1 win in the second leg over Frankfurt to reach the semi-finals.
They comfortably secured passage into the Europa League Final following a 1-5 aggregate win over Bodø/Glimt. However, since that game, their poor league form has continued following back-to-back defeats 0-2 to Crystal Palace and 2-0 to Aston Villa.
This is a huge game for Spurs, and it’s interesting to see how they rotated heavily in advance of this final last Friday Night.

Man United’s Form
Man United’s league has been unquestionably awful this season, and the club are certain to record their lowest Premier League finish in history next weekend. However, their form in Europe has been extremely strong, and they remain the only side unbeaten in European Football this season. The 3-4-2-1 system adopted by Amorim seems to be the perfect foil for European ties despite being granted signings to fit his system, yet it is at the very least one positive sign.
Despite opening their Europa League phase with three consecutive draws, which was followed by five successive wins, which meant they finished 3rd and automatically advanced to the Round of 16. First up was Real Soicedad, and a 4-1 win in the second leg at home meant they booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 5-2 aggregate victory.
The story of their season came in their quarter-final tie against Lyon, opening it with a 2-2 draw away from home. The second leg started in a flying manner with them going into a 2-0 halftime lead, but a late collapse sent the game into extra time, where they even went 2-3 down on the night. Like Lazarus, United rose from the depths, though extra time goals from Fernandes (114th minute), Mainoo (120 minute) and Harry Maguire (121st minute) secured a dramatic 5-4 aggregate win.
Despite fears of Athletic Club being stronger than Lyon, they eventually beat them 7-1 on aggregate to reach this final. However, like their opponents, they come into this game in miserable league form with an identical one point from their last five games.
Amorim went relatively strong in advance of this game last Friday Night, but the performance was a mixed bag, so it’ll be interesting to see how much he changes from the Chelsea defeat.

Key Players To Watch
Dominic Solanke - Tottenham
Filling the boots of Harry Kane was never going to be easy, but that’s exactly what Solanke was tasked with doing. While not to the level of his predecessor, Solanke did have pedigree, having been on the books of Chelsea and Liverpool before hitting the heights with Bournemouth and having also been capped for England from U16 to Senior Level.
Solanke remains a strong outlet to lead the line and a decent finisher. His tally for the season is 15 goals and 8 assists in 43 matches, and in the Europa League, he has 5 goals and 4 assists in 12 games. He is now priced at 13/2 to score first and 5/2 to score anytime.
Solanke anytime goal - 5/2

Bruno Fernandes - Man United
Fernandes (30) has come under considerable criticism since he was appointed as the club's captain for not being captain material” in some people's eyes. But the reality is that if his teammates could replicate the standards he sets for himself on and off the pitch, the club would be in a far better position.
His tally for the season is now 19 goals and 19 assists across his 55 games and can also be gotten at 13/2 to score first and 9/4 to score anytime.
Fernandes first goal - 13/2

Tottenham v Man United Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Man United
Tottenham’s season and Ange’s job hang on the Europa League, and their performance at the weekend is concerning.
Bodø/Glimt's run to this stage can’t be dismissed, and they’ve already scared English opposition earlier in the competition.
Spurs do just enough, but I can’t see them putting the tie completely to bed.
