The Premier League is back on Saturday and what a match we have to kick off the weekend! Liverpool will take their 100% record to Wembley to take on Tottenham Hotspur and we have 5 game changing stats for you to have a look at ahead of the match.

Liverpool have only one win in 90 minutes in the new Wembley
This was originally planned as the grand opening of the new Tottenham Stadium and the change of venue may not be great news for Liverpool.

A League Cup final victory on penalties aside, they have only won one match in 90 minutes in the new Wembley since it opened in 2007. That one win came against Everton in an FA Cup semi-final in 2012 but they’ve been beaten by Tottenham, Man City, Chelsea and Aston Villa at the London venue.

Tottenham have only lost twice against the Top 6 at home in three seasons
While their away form against the rest of the top six has been their Achilles heel, Tottenham have a fantastic home record against the rest of the Premier League elite.

In the past three seasons they’ve only been beaten at home twice, a run that includes last season’s 4-1 victory over Jürgen Klopp’s men. Both of those defeats however came at Wembley last season, in August against Chelsea and in April to the eventual Premier League winners Manchester City.

Liverpool have kicked off at 12.30 on Saturday after 5 of the last 6 international breaks
Jürgen Klopp is not a fan of Saturday afternoon kick-offs. In their early kick-off after the September internationals last season they travelled to the Etihad to face Man City and were soundly beaten by Pep Guardiola’s team 5-0 after the dismissal of Sadio Mane for a dangerous high challenge.

They faced Man Utd in the early kick off following the October internationals and drew a blank against Jose’s men. Will they suffer a similar fate this weekend?

Under Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool have not won away to Tottenham
You have to go back to 2014 for the last time Liverpool won away to Spurs. It was Mauricio Pochettino’s first defeat as Spurs manager and the last time the clubs met at White Hart Lane before Jürgen Klopp’s arrival.

Klopp has yet to register a win away to Tottenham having drawn twice and lost once. He has also lost a Champions League final at Wembley when manager of Borussia Dortmund.

Harry Kane scored 13 goals in September 2017
Much has been made about Harry Kane’s August Premier League goal drought and although he has broken that particular streak it’s worth remembering how red hot he was in September last season. The August famine before the September feast where in all competitions he scored an incredible 13 goals.

Liverpool’s main goal threat, Mo Salah, scored 2 for Egypt in their African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Niger on Saturday. He also supplied two assists and missed two penalties in the 6-0 win.
