Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English from the University of Limerick and is currently pursuing a Masters in Public History and Cultural Heritage.
Passions
This year’s Tipperary Rose has a strong passion for Irish dancing and competed in the 2024 World Irish Dancing Championships. She is also a member of a traditional music band that goes by the name of Cailíní Lua.
Why Is Tara Taking Part in the Rose of Tralee?
Tara has fond memories of a visit from the 2008 Tipperary Rose, Aoife Kelly, to her primary school. Aoife was crowned the Rose of Tralee that year and is in fact the only Tipperary Rose to have won the competition.
Tara’s interest in Irish culture and history is another key reason for her wanting to participate in the Rose of Tralee.
Community Involvement
Tara has been busy in the community this summer. Most notably she was a special guest for a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Ireland in Roscrea and an ambassador for the Darkness into Light walk in Ballina.
