Leopardstown Card Preview

17:15

The first race of the evening will be run over 1 mile and is a maiden with none of these horses having previously won on track.

Green Impact is the favourite for this one at 13/8 in the latest betting odds on account of an impressive performance on debut at the Curragh last month.

Scandinavia comes in just behind in the betting at 5/2 with Ryan Moore getting the ride on Declaroix (9/2). Yamal, who has a 3rd and 4th place positions on his resume is another 9/2 chance before we see a drop off in the betting with 14/1 bar.

17:50

Next up we have a sprint over 7 and 1/2 furlongs.

Bedtime Story is a dominant favourite for this one with odds of 1/9 suggesting that victory is highly likely here.

Ryan Moore will be on board of Bedtime Story and there may be more interest in the Lengthen The Odds betting market where you can back the favourite to win by 5+ lengths at odds of 4/9.

Another Aidan O’Brien horse, Exactly, is seen as the most likely to cause an upset as a 10/1 second favourite. Then we have Barnavara who won at the Curragh on soft ground this season before recording two 4th place finishes since. Senna’s Girl (22/1) and Varner (66/1) round out the betting.

18:20

The third race on the card will also be run over 7 and a half furlongs.

Jessica Harrington’s Proxima Centauri leads the betting at 7/2 thanks to fantastic pedigree.

Cradle of Love is the second favourite at 9/2 for Joseph Patrick O’Brien with some solid form behind him. Ryan Moore will be on board Garden of Eden who is viewed as an 11/2 chance due to strong pedigree.

18:50

The 6.50 pm race will be contested over 7 furlongs.

Ryan Moore will ride Evens favourite Surpass in this one as Aidan O’Brien will be hoping the 2-year-old can maintain his perfect record with 2 wins already from 2 outings on track.

Beckman is seen as the biggest challenger at 10/3 in the betting and after his winning performance on debut at the Curragh has strong credentials here. Hotazhell is another with a big chance at 7/2 in the market and also comes into this one following a victory at the Curragh. Aidan O’Brien’s Swagman (11/1) and J P Murtagh’s Mano Chicago (16/1) round out the betting.

19:20

A 5-horse field will contest the 7.20 pm which is a handicap race over 1m and 1 furlong.

Shamsuddin is the 6/4 favourite for this one after getting his first career win at Dundalk 2 weeks ago. He carries second top weight at 9 st 4 lbs.

The betting behind is tight with Tokenomics (11/4), September Leaves (10/3) and Formal Display (9/2) viewed as the biggest threats to the J P Murtagh 3-year-old. Sli Na Ghealai rounds out the betting at 14/1.

19:50

In this 1m 5 f race the favourite is Aidan O’Brien’s Blackpool at Evens. This horse is a previous winner over course and distance and should take all the beating here with Ryan Moore on board.

The market is unable to separate Tamrat and Barnso (both 9/2) while Jessica Harrington’s La Vita Nova (13/2) offers some intrigue having won last time out at Limerick. Aeronautic is at the bottom of the market at 15/2 but has shown promising signs in his debut at Gowran and subsequent win at Dundalk two weeks ago over 1m 2f.

20:20

The last race on the card is a 1m 7f handicap in what looks to be a wide-open race.

Sean Byrne’s Quiz Test has been installed as the 9/2 market leader. The 4-year-old was a consistent top-3 finisher in his first 5 runs before finishing 6th last time out at Roscommon after a break.

Believe in Science (11/2) is the second favourite in this one and is yet to be first past the post. However, he has been coming close recently with the hope among backers being that he can finally land a first victory this time out.

Party Dress (8/1), Dollar Value (8/1) and Sceptred Isle (12/1) all come into this race on the back of wins last time out.
