St Mark's Basilica, Tarnawa, Poetic Flare and Patrick Sarsfield have all been declared for Saturday’s Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown with the former attracting all the support for the €1 million event.

St Mark's Basilica is bidding for a fifth consecutive Group One at the Dublin track and is 5/4 from 11/8 to land the Irish Champion Stakes.

We reported on Thursday morning that he is the only horse we have been laying for any significant stakes in the antepost betting. ""

Poetic Flare makes the step up to ten furlongs for the first time for trainer Jim Bolger and is 3/1 to land another Group One title having won the 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes this year.

Dermot Weld's Tarnawa is another multiple Group One scorer in the field at 2/1 and has only appeared once this season while Patrick Sarsfield makes up the field as the 25/1 outsider for Joseph O’Brien.
