St. Finbarr’s All The Rage For Cork County Title

Lawrence Lyons on Nov 26, 2021 at 04:13 PM
St. Finbarr’s are hot favourites to be crowned Cork Premier Senior Football champions ahead of a repeat of the 2009 decider against Clonakilty on Sunday.

Clonakilty caused a huge upset on that occasion, but go into this year’s decider without the services of half-back Liam O’Donovan, who hasn’t recovered from the injury he picked up in their semi-final victory over Douglas and now faces a prolonged spell on the side lines having undergone surgery on his hamstring.

Clon will start as underdogs again and have been eased this week to 9/4 from 2/1 for their first county title since the 2009 victory...

While the chances of St. Finbarr’s being crowned champions for the tenth time have been clipped into 2/7 from 4/11.""

The latest outright betting suggests Kilmacud Crokes are the side to beat in the race for All-Ireland honours after they edged out St. Jude’s by a single point in last weekend’s Dublin Senior Final. That saw the Stillorgan outfit backed into 11/4 from 8/1 to go all the way, making them the new favourites ahead of Derry champions Glen (4/1).
