Speaking exclusively to BoyleSports, Dion Dublin has reflected on ‘that’ headbutt on Robbie Savage.

The former Aston Villa star was infamously shown a red card during the Birmingham City derby after the incident in the 2002/03 season.

Dublin explained to us the situation from his point of view plus revealed that he is more recognised for presenting now than his football career and assesses the situation at Walsall.

That Robbie Savage Headbutt

My headbutt of Robbie Savage is just a moment in football history that will just be there all the time. I was in the wrong and I shouldn't have done it. But the red mist descended and I couldn't stop myself.

Robbie was being gobby. He said he didn't say anything wrong. He was just being his gobby self on the pitch to get players sent off and he got me sent off!

My tackle was late but I didn't really touch him in the head, ask him! But we laugh about it now and I’ve always apologised. I just heard 46,000 Villa fans saying go on and I got sucked in! Sorry Rob!

I Get More Noticed Now For Homes Under The Hammer

It is crazy, now when I go shopping and I’m picking up cereal, my Mrs will be picking up something behind me and has heard people say: ‘That’s the guy from Homes Under the Hammer!’

That's what I'm getting noticed for more now. People tell me that they love me on Homes and ask if I get to buy the properties or ask if people really spend all the money on the houses and it’s great, I love it.

I like having to use a different part of my brain. Football is my backbone but I’m so glad I jumped into it because it was hard at first having never presented but I think I’ve grown and got better, and people enjoy watching it on TV.

I’d Like To See Walsall Playing At A Higher Level

I played against Walsall many, many times when they were back in the old fourth division and would like to see them playing higher up again.

They don’t get talked about much but I really do like the football club. They’re in a tricky place with players coming and going but when it comes to the size of a football club and the fanbase, they could quite easily put up a link higher.
