Silver Steak was an impressive winner of the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday, as the Evan Williams trained 7-year-old landed the Grade One in brilliant fashion beating the red-hot 1/5 favourite Epatante by six and half lengths.

Silver Streak has now tumbled into 12/1 from 25/1 with BoyleSports for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham next year after landing his first Grade One at odds of 13/2 under jockey Adam Wedge.

Epatante, who was defending her crown in the race has now been eased out to 5/2 from 5/4 but remains the favourite. Abacadabras has been trimmed into 11/2 from 7/1.

Frodon and Bryony Frost landed the King George for trainer Paul Nicholls, giving the champion trainer his 12th success in the race. The 2019 Ryanair Chase winner is now 8/1 from 16/1 to win another title next year at Prestbury Park and is 16/1 from 33/1 to win the Gold Cup.
