Opponents Dundalk meanwhile prop up the table with just one goal and two draws to show from their opening five fixtures, and Shels are heavily fancied at 8/11 to continue their early momentum with another victory.
Shamrock Rovers host Bohemians in RTÉ’s live game on Friday evening and while the Hoops remain title favourites, they sit ten points behind Shelbourne and have been eased to 10/11 from 4/7 to be crowned champions for the fifth consecutive season.
Derry City, five points adrift in second, host Galway and are still rated the main threats to Shamrock Rovers’ title aspirations according to odds of 13/5 of a first league title making its way to the Brandywell since the 1996/97 season.
