There is a fascinating afternoon of National Hunt action for punters to get stuck into on Saturday and we’ve got ITV racing tips for all six races on the box from Newbury and Newcastle.

With the Grade One Fighting Fifth Hurdle backed up by five competitive handicaps, there are plenty of options to back these selections either as singles or in multiple bets.

Saturday ITV Racing Tips

Newbury 13:40 Tip

Newbury 13:40 – French Ship

Followed up an unlucky fall at Chepstow when travelling well by running away with a 20-runner event at Cheltenham in impressive fashion and may not be stopped by an 8lb uplift.

Newcastle 14:00 Tip

Newcastle 14:00 – Constitution Hill

Last season’s top novice The New Lion and Irish raider Anzadam enter the BetMGM Fighting Fifth Hurdle as hot young prospects, while shock Champion Hurdle winner Golden Ace also features.

However, Constitution Hill remains the headline act on his return to action, even after last term fell apart with horror shows at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown.

Nicky Henderson’s superstar was previously beset by illness and injury problems but memories of how the 2023 Champion Hurdle hero dominated the division during a run of 10 straight wins remain and if connections believe he is ready to roar back to his brilliant best, that is good enough for us.

Newbury 14:15 Tip

Newbury 14:15 – Indeevar Bleu

Looks more than capable of playing a leading role for the on-song Olly Murphy yard in the Coral Racing Club Intermediate Handicap Hurdle, aka the Gerry Feilden.

Indeevar Bleu is 6lb higher than when last seen winning at Ffos Las back in April, but that was a ready success and he has the assistance of the irrepressible Sean Bowen.

Newbury14:55 Tip

Newbury 14:55 – The Changing Man

This likeable eight-year-old hails from a yard in fine form in that of Joe Tizzard, has a definite touch of class and hardly ever underperforms – all qualities that will serve him well in the Coral Gold Cup, a historic handicap formerly known as the Hennessy.

Having performed with credit in some strong novice events last term, his return at Ascot at the turn of the month was a typically solid run, beaten only by Henry’s Friend, and he is just a smidgen higher in the weights for it.

Newcastle15:15 Tip

Newcastle 15:15 – Deafening Silence

Despite already scoring twice over hurdles, including a Grade Two strike at Sandown, and once over fences during his novice campaign, the feeling is that we have yet to see the best of Dan Skelton’s charge, who reappears on a nice weight in the BetMGM Rehearsal Handicap Chase.

Newbury 15:35 Tip

Newbury 15:35 – Javert Allen

Jane Williams has been doing really well with her recent runners and this lightly-raced six-year-old, a cosy course and distance scorer last December, should strip fitter for a comeback fourth at Aintree.
