ITV Racing Tips Saturday
Chepstow 13:05 – Siam Park
CHEPSTOW 13:05 – SIAM PARK
Joe Tizzard is enjoying an excellent campaign and this progressive six-year-old has shown a fine attitude to bag an Exeter double.
That was Siam Park ’s fourth success from just six starts over fences and he may still have the scope to cope with another 7lb uplift.
Kempton 13:20 – Della Casa Lunga
KEMPTON 13:20 – DELLA CASA LUNGA
This mare caught the eye making late headway when third here a month ago and should now be spot on for a race she won nicely last season, when also carrying top weight – as she is built to do.
Chepstow 13:40 – Macktoad
CHEPSTOW 13:40 – MACKTOAD
The Moores have had some fine juvenile hurdlers down the years and this French import created a big impression when making light of tough conditions on his British debut at Sandown earlier this month.
Stablemates Porticello and Salver have taken two of the last four runnings of the Grade Two Finale Juvenile Hurdle and hopes are high that Macktoad can follow in their hoofprints.
Kempton 13:55 – Lump Sum
KEMPTON 13:55 – LUMP SUM
Sets a solid standard in the Grade Two Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase after hacking up by a wide margin on his debut over fences at Uttoxeter before being far from disgraced in third behind the smart Lulamba at Sandown .
From a yard that is absolutely flying this season, this former Welsh Champion Hurdle hero is a very likeable sort.
Kempton 14:30 – Thistle Ask
KEMPTON 14:30 – THISTLE ASK
Dan Skelton can do little wrong in valuable handicaps this term and has another strong hand in the Desert Orchid Chase with this fast-improving eight-year-old.
Since joining the yard over the summer, Thistle Ask has rattled off emphatic front-running victories at Kelso , Wetherby and Exeter and, although being hit hard by the handicapper, Kempton should suit his style perfectly.
Chepstow 14:50 – Jubilee Express
CHEPSTOW 14:50 – JUBILEE EXPRESS
Local trainer Sam Thomas is trying to land the Welsh Grand National for a second time in five years and this eight-year-old has a similar profile to his 2021 winner Iwilldoit .
The eight-year-old was a staying-on second in this contest 12 months ago and seeks to go one better this time around after landing a recent trial in fine style.
Thomas , who is based just 30 miles from Chepstow , said of Jubilee Express : “There’s definitely more to come, especially as he’s now a bit more battle-hardened and has been in some bigger races; he knows what to expect.
“I think that goes a long way when you’re going into these big races, they are well prepared and know what’s about to happen.”
He added: “We’re very proud Welshmen, being on the doorstep feels that bit more special. We love going to Chepstow and having runners; we’ve had a nice bit of success there over the years.”
