I expected Leicester to beat Southampton on Friday but not by 9-0!
Hasenhuttl Pressure
I don’t think anyone expected that but there is pressure on Ralph Hasenhuttl now. Surely there comes a point in the game, especially when you’re being beaten 3-0 or 4-0 and you’re down to ten men, where you have to stop teams going against you.
They continued to play open football and create chances so it made for an entertaining game but they leave themselves so exposed and now it’s put huge pressure on them.
Full credit to Leicester and how ruthless they were though. It was a top quality performance from that team and they’re only getting better and better. We’re starting to talk about Leicester becoming a top 4 side come the end of the season.
Solid City
Man City looked very impressive against Aston Villa; going forward and creating chances. I thought Aston Villa looked very solid defensively in the first half and actually caused a few problems for Man City.
Although, as soon as City got that first goal from Raheem Sterling, that was it. You have to fancy him to score every single time when he starts in front of goal. He is incredible. Yes, there was another VAR controversy in the game but that’s the nature of the beast now.
Merseyside Matches
The game of the weekend was certainly Liverpool v Tottenham at Anfield. Tottenham started brilliantly and it was a great finish from Harry Kane. After that, they didn’t threaten Liverpool for the next 85 minutes.
They had a couple of spells of possession in the game and a few shots from distance but they never looked like they were going to win. Saido Mane was rightly Man of the Match. Trent Alexander-Arnold was outstanding and Andy Robertson was great going forward.
As a collective unit, Liverpool look so strong.
I thought Everton were harshly treated with the VAR going against them twice. It was a very harsh penalty to be given against Michael Keane on Aaron Connolly but Brighton were looking strong.
It’s a difficult spell for Everton and they can’t seem to back up one good performance with another. I do feel they deserved something from the game though but credit to Brighton, they went for it.
It does put pressure on Marco Silva now and their consistency is always going to be questioned.
Man United & Arsenal
I thought Man United played really well against Norwich away from home. They were actually a bit unlucky to concede late on in the game. They should have won a lot more handsomely than they did as Norwich were never really in it.
It has to be a good sign for United that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are creating a bit of partnership.
They haven’t changed their mentality. It doesn’t matter if it’s Wenger or Emery, they leave themselves so open and exposed.
The old adage under George Graham was ‘boring, boring Arsenal,’ but they need to get back to that a bit.
They can’t see a game through 1-0 and if they do, it’s by luck. They’re in danger of falling out of the top 4 again this season and I don’t see any improvement under Emery.

Now all of a sudden, Hasenhuttl becomes mentioned in the sack race when two or three weeks ago everyone was saying what a fine job he was doing with limited resources.""

As for Arsenal; well they’re doing what they have been doing for the last 10-15 years now.""
