South Africa 3/10

The Springboks entered the 2024 Rugby Championship as reigning World Cup Champions following their victory last October which was their second successive victory in the biggest competition of them all after they also won in 2019.

They returned to action following a break in June where they were victorious by a 41-13 scoreline against Wales. That was followed by a thrilling series against Ireland where they won the opening game 27-20 before losing the second fixture 24-25 and finished up that tour with a 64-21 win over Portugal.

Their Rugby Championship campaign commenced earlier this month where they had two comfortable victories against Australia 7-33 and 12-30 though there are tougher tests ahead starting with New Zealand next weekend.

New Zealand  11/4

The All Blacks suffered World Cup Final heartbreak at the hands of South Africa last October by a narrow 11-12 scoreline. However, they did enter this Rugby Championship as the reigning champions following their victory in the competition last year.

They returned to action last month with a narrow 16-15 victory over England in the first test and they then secured the series with a 24-17 win over them in the second test. That was followed by a convincing 47-5 win over Fiji.

Their Rugby Championship defence commenced with a shock 30-38 loss against Argentina before they put the story right with a 42-10 win in their second game. Their next game against The Springboks will be a repeat of the World Cup Final.

Argentina 16/1

Argentina put in a decent showing at the Rugby World Cup where they finished 2nd in their Pool behind England, defeated Wales 17-29 in the Quarter-Final before they were outclassed by The All Blacks 6-44 in the Semi-Final and lost the 3rd place game to England 23-26.

They returned to Rugby action last month playing two games against France losing the first by a 13-28 scoreline but securing a huge victory 33-25 in the second test. They then concluded their tour with a 5-79 demolition of Uruguay.

Their Rugby Championship campaign commenced with a shock 30-38 game against New Zealand although they lost the reverse fixture 42-10. Next up they have two games against an Australian team in transition and the perceived “easy” win.

Australia 1000/1

Australian Rugby is not in a strong place and at the last Rugby World Cup, they didn’t even get out of the Pool following two defeats during the Group Stage 15-22 against Fiji and 40-6 against Wales which meant that they didn’t even reach the Quarter-Final which was their worst-ever finish in the competition.

They returned to Rugby action last month with three victories a 25-16 win against Wales a 36-28 win avenging their World Cup defeat from last year and finally a 40-29 win over Georgia.

Their Rugby Championship campaign commenced with two comprehensive defeats against The Springboks coming 7-33 and 12-30. They face Argentina next in what looks to be their best chance at getting any points.
