Kyprios Liability Builds at BoyleSports
BoyleSports has reported that Kyprios, the 4/5 favourite for Thursday’s Gold Cup, remains their biggest liability ahead of Royal Ascot which gets underway on Tuesday.
The Moyglare Stud owned six-year-old has been the subject of significant support in recent weeks, having hit a high of 7/4 and has also been a hugely popular selection in ante-post accumulators for the five-day betting bonanza.
Ballydoyle Treble At Royal Ascot
With Aidan O’Brien set to field a number of short-priced favourites across the week, punters are piling on to a popular treble for the Fethard handler. Auguste Rodin kicks off the potential three-timer as he looks to get back to winning ways in the Prince Of Wales Stakes on Wednesday as 11/10 favourite.
The Deep Impact colt will bid to bounce back from defeat in Dubai and in the Curragh’s Tattersalls Gold Cup, and his task has been made significantly easier with the defection of his Curragh conqueror White Birch owing to unsuitable ground.
Ballydoyle will also field a number of promising juveniles including Fairy Godmother in Friday’s Albany Stakes and Camille Pissarro in the Coventry, but it’s Whistlejacket (11/8) in the Norfolk Stakes that bettors are keenest on as they latch on to an 8/1 Ballydoyle treble.
With Auguste Rodin forming the opening leg of the treble on Wednesday, a two-pronged assault on the Thursday card could see Whistlejacket (11/8) in the Norfolk and Kyprios (4/5) in the Gold Cup complete a treble that could be a knock-out blow for the bookies who would still have storms to weather on Friday and Saturday.
