Royal Ascot Feature Race Preview
Queen Anne Stakes – 14:30
This Group 1 opener is a battle of tactical speed and stamina over a mile for horses aged four years or older.
Last year the event was Charyn who was ridden by Silvestre de Sousa for trainer Roger Varian. Following several strong performances at a lower level Charyn rose to the Ascot stage to finish 2 and ¼ lengths ahead of Docklands duly justifying his status as the 100/30 SP favourite.
Rosallion is the 5/2 market leader ahead of Tuesday's Ascot Opener the four-year-old trained by Richard Hannon heads into the race following a strong career record to date of five wins, one runner-up finish and two third and should come on from his third at Newbury last month after he returned from a 333-day break on the track.
Rosallion to win - 5/2
Betting Tip: Aiden O’Brien has trained the winner of this event on four occasions and with that considered Diego Velazuez at odds of 10/1 each way might be worth the gamble!

Coventry Stakes – 15:05
This juvenile race will be one whereby we see the stars of the future perform. Last year’s winner Rashabar for jockey Billy Loughnane and trainer Brian Meehan at a huge 80/1 price to beat Electrolyte by a nose.
Betting Tip: Look for an unbeaten youngster from a stable with a strong record.
King Charles III Stakes - 15:40
This 5-furlong dash is all about raw sprint speed and could likely be the fastest finishing race of day one at Ascot and last year was won by Asfoora with the jockey trainer partnership of Oisin Murphy and Henry Dwyer.
Betting Tip: Consider an each-way bet on a 10/1 outsider with recent sprint wins.
St James’s Palace Stakes – 16:20
A crucial race for three-year-old colts, often pitting 2,000 Guineas runners against rising stars including 2024 winner Rosallion (favourite for the Queen Anne Stakes). The round mile tests stamina and class, with O’Brien’s Ballydoyle often targeting this.
Betting Tip: Focus on horses who placed in top Guineas races at 4/1 or shorter.

Ascot Stakes – 17:00
Bookies Brace for Impact as Ascot Punters Predict Royal Winner Moore and Mullins team up with Reaching High.
BoyleSports has reported that the Willie Mullins-trained Reaching High (7/2 from 10/1) is now their biggest ante-post gamble ahead of Royal Ascot, which gets underway on Tuesday.
The four-year-old gelding, who was previously trained by the recently retired Sir Michael Stoute, has already entered the history books by becoming the first horse owned by a reigning British monarch to be trained in Ireland and was narrowly touched off on debut for Closutton at Leopardstown.
Ryan Moore's Hot Ticket
Ryan Moore has been booked to ride Reaching High in Tuesday’s Ascot Stakes, a race that Mullins has already trained four winners of, including when teaming up with Moore for victory with Simenon (2012) and Thomas Hobson (2017).
Despite stepping up in trip by a mile from his previous start, a pedigree littered with stamina has punters confident of a first Royal winner at the meeting since 2020, when Tactical gave Queen Elizabeth II her 24th and final winner at the Berkshire track.
Odds of 10/1 were available about Reaching High scoring success in the Ascot Stakes just last week, but as punters latch onto the booking of Ryan Moore and onto a dream Royal winner, he has been gambled into just 7/2 to be the toast of the crowd on day one of the five-day racing bonanza.
Reaching High to win - 7/2

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“The King and Queen combine with racing royalty in Willie Mullins and Ryan Moore and the weight of support for Reaching High has marked him out as one of our biggest liabilities of the entire five days of Royal Ascot. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but we’ll be a mile behind by the end of day one if he lands the Ascot Stakes.”
