Rory McIlroy's Current Form

McIlroy's Wins In 2023

The Northern Irish man has only one victory to his name in 2023, which came in the Dubai Desert Classic at the end of January and got plenty of press coverage as he defeated nemesis Patrick Reed by a single stroke with a birdie on the 72nd hole. Reed had previously sued McIlroy, so the victory was about far more than just golf and prize money; it was personal. The closest he has come to a win since then is a T2 finish at the Arnold Palmer in March, where he came one shot behind the winner Kurt Kitayama and 2nd at the US Open, coming one shot behind Wyndham Clark.

Most Recent Form

Mcllroy has been very consistent in recent events coming in the top 10 in all five of his last five events. Since being cut at the Masters and coming T47 at the Wells Fargo, we have seen a different Mcllroy on course coming T7 at the PGA Championship and the Memorial, T9 at the Canadian Open, 2nd at the US Open and T7 again at the Travelers Championship most recently.

Recent Major Form

Rory has shown progressive form at the Majors this season. At the 2023 Masters, many predicted he would complete the Grand Slam of Golf, but it was not to be as he was cut at the halfway stage. However, in the two majors since then his form has improved with finishes of T7th at the PGA Championship and in the most recent major, the US Open, he finished in 2nd place.

Rory McIlroy's Open Championship Form

McIlroy has had mixed success at the Open Championship, with his best result coming back in 2014 when he won the event. It's also very noteworthy that his lone Open Championship win came at Royal Liverpool given that this year's Open will also be held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club. That means that Mcllroy is the last major winner to win on this course, something that certainly goes in his favour. His full record at the event is 11/13 cuts made, 7 Top-25s, 6 Top 10s, two 3rds, one 2nd and one victory. However, in most recent entries into this event, his record has been on the poorer side, being CUT in 2019 and T46 in 2021 although he did return to form last year with a 3rd place finish.Could Hoylake prove to be McIlroy's good luck charm once more as he seeks to land that all elusive fifth major?Click Below For All Our The Open Championship 2023 Betting OddsThe Open Odds 2023 - Golf
