Fleetwood Eyed As Challenger In Tour Finale
Rory McIlroy is being well backed to sign off a stellar season in style with a fourth career success at the DP World Tour Championship.
The world number 2 has already tasted success this year at The Masters, Ryder Cup, Irish Open and at Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass on the PGA Tour. And McIlroy is now in pole position to seal a seventh Race to Dubai crown with only Marco Penge and Tyrell Hatton in with a chance of denying him in the seasonal ranking race.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“It’s been a year that Rory McIlroy and his followers aren’t likely to forget in a hurry and with the Race to Dubai at his mercy, punters are bullish that he’s going to sign off on a high.”
Mcllroy v Fleetwood Showdown
McIlroy will tee it up at the Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course as 7/2 favourite with BOYLE Sports to win the DP World Tour finale for the second successive year, with in-form Tommy Fleetwood rated his main danger according to the bookies.
Fleetwood narrowly missed out in a play-off last week when Aaron Rai landed the spoils at the Abu Dhabi Championship, but the Southport man is 11/2 to bounce back by adding a DP World Tour Championship victory to the equivalent he landed on the PGA Tour in August.
