Mullins Horses Can Land BoyleSports Becher Chase
The Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero-trained Gesskille has now been joined as 4/1 joint favourite for the 2022 renewal by Dan Skelton’s Ashtown Lad, but Power says the favourites may be upstaged by one of two horses representing Irish trainer Willie Mullins.
“It's a very competitive renewal of the BoyleSports Becher Chase,” Power told BoyleSports.
“Snow Leopardess was very good when she won this race last year in testing conditions; I’m not sure the ground will be testing enough for her this year, but she’s a good mare and she loves it round here, she jumps really well."
"Gesskille ran a cracker when second in the Grand Sefton and that is very strong form, he’ll take a bit of beating, but it’s great to see a good Irish challenge."
"Recite A Prayer was second in the Kerry National and third in the Munster National and I think he has a big chance."
If I had the choice of Willie Mullins’ two, I’d pick Recite A Prayer because I’d rather eat the Aintree fences than ride Captain Kangaroo over them; his jumping leaves an awful lot to be desired.

Each-Way Value
“The each-way value for me is The Wolf for Olly Murphy and Adrian Heskin and I wouldn’t rule out Now Where Or When either for Stuart Crawford. He’s a very consistent horse with a nice weight on his back and Sam Ewing is riding out of his skin.”
Ahoy Senor Set For Bounce Back
Power also believes Ahoy Senor can bounce back from his disappointing performance in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby in October when he came in last of five runners.
“There are a couple on retrieval missions in the BoyleSports Many Clouds Chase – Chantry House was last seen pulling up in the Gold Cup behind A Plus Tard and Ahoy Senor ran way too free and fresh in the Charlie Hall when a disappointing fifth."
“We know how good Ahoy Senor is around Aintree, he’s won two Grade 1s here and I think he’ll take a lot of beating. It’s great to see Noble Yeats back at Aintree but he’s going to have to improve to beat Ahoy Senor."
If Ahoy Senor is going to redeem himself and put himself in the Gold Cup picture, then it would be around his beloved Aintree
