Natalie Sawyer has backed Republic of Ireland to give manager Stephen Kenny something to build on and end their Nations League campaign well.
Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Scotland means they can finish no higher than third in the group ahead of Tuesday’s finale against Armenia in Dublin, but Sawyer believes there have been enough positives for the manager to take from the campaign.

“Four points from fifteen doesn’t make for good reading for the Republic of Ireland,” she told BoyleSports.
“But their defeats have only been by one-goal margins, so they certainly have been in games for a long time and they were completely in control in the first half against Scotland at Hampden Park - they well deserved their 1-0 lead.
“I do think their Nations League campaign hasn’t been all that bad given their performances, but they really do need to end with a win.
"When you look at Stephen Kenny’s options – it’s a young squad. So they can come good, they’re just inexperienced when it comes to international football.
“It makes such a difference playing at home and the match against Armenia is a great opportunity for them to take on a relative minnow.
"Since beating Republic of Ireland in June, Armenia have lost four in a row conceding two, three, four and five, so there is clearly a fragility in the their defence the Irish can get at.”
