Liverpool Lead The Way
Liverpool are narrow favourites at 13/8 with BOYLE Sports for a successful defence of their title as a competitive betting market continues ahead of next week’s kick-off in the Premier League.
Arne Slot’s side are rated odds-on shots at 4/11 to have Newcastle striker Alexander Isak on their books by the end of the transfer window and will be bidding to fend off competition for the title from Arsenal (9/4 second favourites) and third favourites Manchester City (10/3), who are chasing their fifth Premier League crown in six seasons.
Transfers Trigger Title Support For Red Devils
Meanwhile, City neighbours Manchester United have been clipped into 28/1 from 40/1 to be crowned champions for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm in 2013. Ruben Amorim’s men have attracted increased market support amid a flurry of activity on the transfer market, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo already signed. A deal for Benjamin Sesko is also seemingly close to completion and initial enquiries have reportedly been made for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“Liverpool are setting the early pace in the betting, but Manchester United’s transfer market manoeuvres have clearly caught the eye of punters looking for a valuable outsider.”
BOYLE Sports could also be crowning the new champions early next season, as they have vowed to pay out on any team that establishes a 12-point lead at the top of the league table, even if they go on to be overtaken and miss out on the silverware.
Newly promoted sides Burnley (1/3), Sunderland (4/11) and Leeds (EVS) have been popular in the betting for the wrong reasons, with the trio popular picks in the relegation market, while new Brentford boss and former Irish international Keith Andrews bears the unwanted tag of 7/2 favourite in the dreaded sack race.
