Speaking exclusively with BoyleSports , Manchester United hero Quinton Fortune has told his former club that it’s a no-brainer to bring Roy Keane back as a coach. Fortune also gave his thoughts on his dream summer signings for Manchester United this summer and insight into the phenomenal work ethic of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dembele Dream

My dream would be to see Ousmane Dembele at Manchester United one day, he is a wonderful player that can use both feet. Another name is Michael Olise, I was fortunate to work with him at Reading; these are players that beat opponents and change games so quickly.

Fernandes Needs Help

A more realistic option is Viktor Gyokeres; he is doing an incredible job in Portugal, and we need players like that to help Bruno Fernandes. United have always had great wingers. Dembele is so exciting. A wild dream would be Lamine Yamal, at 17, he is from another planet. He is the real deal already.”

“He Reminds Me of Dwight Yorke”

Eberechi Eze is a player I've admired for a while now; he is so skilful and has so much ability. He reminds me of Dwight Yorke in a sense. He reminds me of Dwight because of the calmness he has on the ball, he has composure in any situation and never looks like losing the ball.

When you sign a player like that, you do wonder where he would play due to Bruno Fernandes, but he has real talent.

Bellingham: The Latest Roy Keane?

I would say that Jude Bellingham is a mixture of Roy Keane and Bryan Robson but in his own right. I would love to see him at Old Trafford. It would work well for the English national team, too.

If United had a bottomless budget, I’d tell them to go and get Jude Bellingham. He is out of this world, a proper player that is exactly what United need.

Roy Keane

We talk about Roy Keane’s enthusiasm, but we also need to talk about his knowledge of the game. He understands the culture of Manchester United. He was the captain for so many years, and if you speak to any player that played with Roy Keane, he'll tell you that Keane was an amazing player as well as a leader.

Roy Return “No Brainer” For Manchester United

He drove the team every single day. For me, it would be a no-brainer for me to have Keane as a coach there – it would make a big difference to the team. Of course, he would have to want to do it, but if he did, then it’s a no-brainer. The players would be very fortunate to have him as a coach.

He might have to change his nature slightly for modern players, but with his knowledge and drive, it would work very well.

The Muhammad Ali Of Football

When Cristiano Ronaldo arrived, we saw the talent immediately, but we had seen other talented young players before.

The difference between Ronaldo and all the talented players I've seen before was the mentality. I hope people do a case study on Ronaldo one day because he has a Muhammad Ali kind of mentality.

It said to all the other players that he is the best. We all looked at him like he was young and crazy. But then you saw the work ethic and the dedication, the mentality every single day.

With that, no one was going to stop him. You put him in a culture like Manchester United, only one thing was going to happen. He obviously played under Sir Alex, the greatest manager ever, so the great culture and the players around him helped, but all credit to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s Work Ethic

His mentality was out of this world. He believed that he was the best, but he worked his socks off every single day to get there. He had tunnel vision. Every day after training, he would do his stepovers, his shooting, and he would go to the gym. Look at the shape of the guys, it's not by kind of luck or accident.

He worked for it, and he did every single bit of it. No one was going to stop Ronaldo.

Messi vs Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was so talented, my goodness, people forget how good he was when he played against Sporting before we signed him.

We didn’t know him before that, but after that, we knew how much skill he had. Lionel Messi is blessed with ability from God, and so was Ronaldo.

Ronaldo To Coach?

Could Cristiano Ronaldo be a coach? I think he could do anything he puts his mind to. We’ve seen it first-hand during his career.

At Manchester United, I could see him as a part-owner. He’s done incredible things in football and also financially. Anything is possible because he loves the club.

The club still loves him for the amazing memories he created there. If he got an opportunity behind the scenes, I think he’d jump to be a part of it.

Rodrygo To Old Trafford?

Rodrygo is a very good player. I was really hoping that Manchester United would sign Pedro Neto before Chelsea got him. I think they missed out there.

“Beast” Vardy

Jamie Vardy is an absolute beast of a player. He could teach a thing or two to many strikers in the Premier League. Looking at where his career started in the lower leagues and building himself up, he’s done so well.

Alan Smith was obviously a different kind of striker, but a nightmare to play against like Jamie Vardy. As a defender, he never gives his time on the ball, and that's what you want from your strikers.
