Punters keen on Elliott runner in Listowel feature
BOYLE Sports has reported that Three Card Brag is the best backed horse in their book ahead of the Guinness Kerry National on Wednesday.
The Gordon Elliott-trained eight-year-old is one of eighteen runners set to contest the €200,000 feature race of the Listowel Harvest Festival and has seen his odds cut into 9/2 (from 15/2) on the back of sustained support since declarations.
Willie Mullins’ unexposed novice You Oughta Know will be making just his fifth start over fences and is set to start as favourite, having been clipped into 7/2 from 9/2 and is one of three runners for the champion trainer, while Gordon Elliott will field a further three runners in addition to his well-fancied Three Card Brag.
Light N Strike is the sole UK representative for brothers Mickey and Sean Bowen and is just 12/1 to land the big pot, with Gavin Cromwell’s Thecompanysergeant (6/1) and Joseph O’Brien’s San Salvador (13/2) also among the fancied runners.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“The Kerry National is always a devilishly difficult puzzle to solve and while this year doesn’t look any different, plenty of punters think they may have an ace up their sleeve in Three Card Brag, who has been all the rage in the betting.”
