Holywood man has fourth FedEx Cup in his sights
Scottie Scheffler will tee it up as the red-hot 6/4 favourite with BOYLE Sports to successfully defend his FedEx Cup crown at East Lake in this week’s Tour Championship.
The world number one counts five PGA Tour victories on his 2025 resumé, including two majors, and has been paired with Masters winner and Holywood native Rory McIlroy for the opening round of the season finale.
With the staggered start that came into effect in 2019 now abolished, 30 of the world’s best golfers will take to the first tee at level par, with McIlroy heading the chasing pack at odds of 13/2.
Already a three-time FedEx Cup winner, McIlroy has flourished on Atlanta’s oldest golf course on a number of occasions, and with an encouraging warm-up when tied-12th at the BMW Championship after a post-Open Championship break, plenty of punters are keen to keep him on side.
Fleetwood Each-Way Claims
Tommy Fleetwood has proven to be a popular each-way selection on the back of his top 5 finishes in the BMW and St Jude Championships, but many remain unconvinced that he can break his PGA duck at East Lake, while Shane Lowry is 40/1 (from 50/1) to bounce back to form.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“It’s been another record-breaking year for Scottie Scheffler but despite heading the betting at a short price, we’ve seen plenty of support for Rory McIlroy to excel once again at East Lake and land a fourth FedEx Cup.”
