Riyadh return expected for Gypsy King

BOYLE Sports is already reporting support for Tyson Fury after he teased on Thursday that a trilogy fight against Oleksandr Usyk could be on the cards next year.

The Gypsy King announced his retirement from the sport in January, but X posts by Saudi Arabia’s boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh and Fury himself suggest a return to the ring will be made in 2026.

When quizzed about possible opponents, it was Usyk that Fury immediately nominated, expressing his desire to gain revenge on the Ukrainian, who got the better of Fury via split decision in Riyadh last May and again in their highly anticipated rematch at the same venue in December.

Wembley Bout Inbound?

Punters however are hopeful that a revitalised Fury could turn the tables and land a first win against his rival, backing the Gypsy King into 2/1 from 5/2 to get the better of the unified heavyweight champion (2/5).

Speculation is also building that Fury might instead make his comeback against Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium, a bout that would see Fury step into the ring as a red-hot 1/2 favourite over his Watford-born rival (6/4).

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“It’s another twist in the Tyson Fury tale and news of his dramatic retirement u-turn already has punters weighing-in on his next fight. Oleksandr Usyk may have got the better of the two tussles so far, but many are expecting Fury to roar back from retirement and turn the tables.”
