PSG v Man City Preview
PSG’s Form
PSG have dominated domestically for longer than a decade winning 10 of the last 11 Ligue 1 titles. However, with their blindingly obvious riches, superstar signings and more money pumped into the club than the average country, the one thing that alludes to them is success on the European stage especially in the Champions League. However, with Mbappé finally departing for Madrid in the summer the squad is arguably more balanced than it ever has been.
The Parisian outfit leads Ligue 1 following an unbeaten start to their domestic campaign amassing forty-six points from eighteen matches putting them nine clear of Marseille.
Their Champions League form has been poor though winning their opener 1-0 against Girona but failing in their next four losing 2-0 to Arsenal drawing 1-1 at home against PSV and further losses 1-2 against Atletico and 1-0 against Bayern, though they beat Salzburg 0-3 last time out.
PSG are currently outside the knockout phase playoffs and need something from this game or another early exit could be on the cards.

Man City’s Form
This City side is inarguably one of the most dominant forces in the history of the Premier League. However, they’re just coming off their biggest slump in over a decade largely due in large part to a failure to correct the balance of the team in the absence of Rodri. The tide could be coming back in their favour though with the side unbeaten in their last six matches across competitions.
Their Champions League run has been a mixed bag so far, opening it with an unbeaten three-game run drawing 0-0 against Inter, and battering Slovan Bratislava and Sparta Prague 0-4 and 5-0 respectively. More recently they’ve struggled, losing 4-1 to Sporting, drawing 3-3 at home with Feyenoord and losing 2-0 to Juventus.
City are currently in an unseeded playoff spot but a loss here could put them in danger of an early exit from the competition outright.

Key Players To Watch
Goncalo Ramos – PSG
While not quite the “big name” of yesteryear who’ve played as an attacker for PSG like Messi, Mbappe, Cavani, Ibrahimović. The Portuguese International (23) arguably goes under the radar for how talented of a footballer he is. His finishing ability, hold-up play and overall work ethic are up there with the best in the world.
Earlier this season he struggled with an ankle injury but has come back into the side in recent weeks and this season from just 498 minutes in all competitions he has 5 goals and 2 assists. He is 13/2 to score first or 7/4 to score at any time.
Erling Haaland – Man City
The Norwegian freak of nature has recently agreed on a 9.5-year new deal with Man City, which would take his time at the club to June 2034 and so it’s likely we will see him terrorise defences in the Premier League at least until his “high” release clause is activated in 2029.
This season he’s scored 22 goals and assisted 1 from 29 games in all competitions and after his goal at the weekend he is 4/1 to score first or 6/5 to score at any time.
PSG v Man City Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: PSG 1-3 Man City
Despite their dominance of Ligue 1 for the last decade, their performances in this competition have been rather underwhelming. However, I do believe their squad is ironically more balanced than ever before minus the “superstars”.
Man City seemingly ended their rut in form at the weekend with their demolition of Ipswich it’ll be interesting to see if that was the spark their season needed.
PSG retain the ability to score always, but I expect City to be too strong even away from home.
