PSG v Arsenal Preview
PSG’s Form
PSG have dominated domestically for over a decade and recently confirmed their 11th Ligue 1 success of their last 12 seasons, including as well as a Trophée des Champions victory earlier this season. Despite blinding riches, superstar signings and more pumped into the club than the average country, the Champions League still eludes them. Ironically, though with Mbappé now gone, they’ve arguably their best chance ever of winning the competition.
The first leg was a relatively even game with Arsenal having 48% of possession and 10 shots for an XG total of 1.63 compared to their 52% and 11 shots for an XG total of 1.16. However, it was Dembele’s strike in the 4th minute which gave them the all-important lead. Though they lost at the weekend, solid showings from the likes of Barcola, Ramos and Mayulu will give Luis Enrique options for Wednesday Night if even if off the bench.
This is a brilliant PSG side to watch and arguably the most entertaining side about right now, especially with a starting front three of the talented trio Doué, Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia.

Arsenal’s Form
This is the last chance salon for Arteta’s Arsenal if they’re to stand a chance of overcoming a trophy drought since the 2020 FA Cup Final. The improvements under Arteta have been considerable, but another trophy is required, or questions will start to be asked about the direction of the management without any trophies. If they do so, they’ll have to overcome the deficit from their narrow first-leg loss, which will be the toughest mental battle of their Champions League campaign.
Arsenal elected to keep their starting side for their weekend game against Bournemouth. Though they lost, they were arguably unfortunate not to win with 13 shots for an XG of 1.42 to their opponents' 9 shots for 0.97. It’ll be interesting to see if they will be leggy for this fixture, though Saka, Rice, Martinelli and White all played less than 90 minutes at the weekend.
Though they lost in the first leg, this is still an extremely strong outfit and the longer the game goes on without another PSG goal they will grow into the game with confidence.

Key Players To Watch
Ousmane Dembele – PSG
There are few footballers with the raw talent that the PSG attacker (27) has, and it’s important not to forget that Barcelona once paid €135.00m for his services from Dortmund back in 2017. Although he’s struggled with consistency and fitness, when at his best, it’s easy to see why Barcelona once valued him so highly. Everything he does then is to a world-class standard with pace, skill and an elite level of dribbling ability while having the end product to provide assists and score goals.
This season, he’s taken the mantle as the main man for PSG, scoring 33 times and assisting 12 across 4 games. In the Champions League, that record is 8 goals and 3 assists in 13 matches. He is 5/1 to score first or 6/4 to score anytime.
Dembele first goal - 5/1
Bukayo Saka - Arsenal
The Hale End Football Academy Graduate has become a crucial component of Arsenal’s rise in competitive stature under Mikel Arteta. While he first broke through as a flying Left-Back in 2018, he has since transitioned into one of the most productive Right-Wingers in World Football, and at only 23 he he could have a decade of top-level football ahead of him.
Despite injury issues, Saka still has an excellent record of 11 Goals and 15 assists in 333 matches this season. He is 8/1 to be the first goal scorer and 5/2 to score anytime.
Saka anytime goal - 5/2
PSG v Arsenal Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: PSG 2-1 Arsenal
PSG have shown grit and resilience throughout this season, which was absent in their squads from previous years.
Arsenal can’t be dismissed here; they were unlucky at the weekend, and there was little between them and PSG in the first leg.
PSG have that little more about them, especially going forward, and I think that will be their edge.
