Aston Villa’s chances of being crowned English champions for the first time since 1981 have been cut to 28/1 in the BOYLE Sports Premier League title odds .

Villa’s miserable start to the season, which saw them go six games without a win and even fail to score in their opening four league matches, is now a distant memory with Unai Emery’s side in red-hot form. Sunday’s victory at West Ham , where Villa twice fought back from a goal down to win 3-2 thanks to Morgan Rogers’ second-half brace, was a ninth successive win in all competitions.

It was also a 10th victory in 11 Premier League matches, which has them third behind Arsenal and Manchester City, both of whom Villa have beaten this season. Villa , runners-up in the inaugural 1992/93 Premier League season but haven’t finished in the top three since, are now within three points of Arsenal , but Emery is remaining calm amid growing talk of potential silverware.

He said: “We are not feeling under pressure, we are feeling ambitious, and we try to challenge in Europe and in the Premier League . “Enjoy each match, try to prepare, then rest. The players must feel comfortable doing it.”

Slick City Chasing Top Gunners

Although Villa are pushing hard, Arsenal and City remain clear favourites in the title race.

The Gunners have also had a lengthy wait to get their hands on the trophy again, but, after finishing second in the past three seasons, they now look to have the squad, know-how and defensive dominance to go all the way.

Mikel Arteta’s pacesetters are 8/1 1 to lift their first title since 2004, but City are close behind on 7/4.

Like Villa , City didn’t have the best of starts but are now looking in ominous form as they seek a ninth championship success in 15 years.

Their 3-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday was a sixth victory in seven league matches, and with games against West Ham and Nottingham Forest to end 2025, Arsenal must play Brighton and Villa - they could be in an even stronger position heading into the new year.

Liverpool FC

What of the Champions?

Liverpool will hope to have turned the corner in what has been a tumultuous season with clean-sheet wins over Inter Milan and Brighton in the last week, the Mohamed Salah saga also seeming to having blown over.

But the damage to their title defence could already have been done with six Premier League defeats, leaving them in sixth spot, 10 points off Arsenal . You can get odds of 33/1 for Liverpool to pull off one of the biggest title turnarounds in living memory, but Arne Slot’s Reds may just be happy to finish in the top four, at odds of 8/15.

Chelsea FC

Can Chelsea Challenge?

Chelsea are also 33/1 to top the lot and could be the best outside bet with talisman Cole Palmer now fit and firing again and Enzo Maresca boasting a wealth of options in an expensively-assembled squad.

The fourth-placed Blues are eight points behind Arsenal .

Of the longer shots, Sunderland , whose derby win over Newcastle left them level on 26 points with Liverpool and fifth-placed Crystal Palace , are 750/1 f or the title, while Oliver Glasner’s Eagles are 300/1 to lift their maiden crown.
