Leeds’ deteriorating form over the last month has seen their prospects of making an immediate return to the Championship cut to 6/4 in the latest BOYLE Sports relegation odds. The Whites made a steady start on their return to the top flight, and their first six games brought in eight points with wins over Everton and Wolves, as well as draws with Newcastle and Bournemouth.
However, things have started to unravel since the start of October, and Sunday’s 3-1 loss at fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest was a fourth defeat in their last five games. That left Daniel Farke’s Championship winners in 16th place, just a point above the relegation zone, and facing an upcoming fixture list that would leave even the most optimistic fan fearing the worst.
Leeds’ next four matches are against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, and if they remain out of the bottom three heading into the new year, then successive games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle to start 2026 may finish the job.
Wolves
Dire Wolves
Winless Wolves remain overwhelming favourites to go down at 1/8, with current form and the weight of history both against them.
The Molineux outfit have just two points from 11 games following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, and no side in Premier League history has managed to survive with that record at this stage of a season.
Wolves somehow managed to stay up last term after claiming just three points from their opening 10 games, but their new boss - reportedly set to be Rob Edwards - will have to perform an even bigger miracle if they are to extend their eight-year stay in the top flight.
Burnley
Burnley Backed To Go Down
Last season's Championship runners-up Burnley, who are currently outside the bottom three on goal difference, are 2/7 second-favourites to go down.
West Ham are 6/5 but look to be heading in the right direction under Nuno Espirito Santo following successive home wins over Newcastle and Burnley.
Nottingham Forest
Forest Not Expected To Struggle
Second-bottom Forest are 11/4 to slip through the trap door, but a management change appears to be working for them too, with Sean Dyche’s arrival calming the City Ground chaos.
They are now within three points of 14th-placed Newcastle following Sunday's victory over Leeds.
Where Will Nottingham Forest Finish This Season?
Outside Bets
Unlikely Candidates
The Magpies are unlikely relegation candidates themselves, but the Premier League is becoming increasingly unforgiving, and they are 66/1 to finish in the bottom three.
On that subject, Liverpool’s 3-0 loss at Manchester City has left them in the bottom three of the form table with just three points from their last five games, the same tally as Leeds and Fulham (11/2).
If you think the reigning Premier League champions could go down after a £450million summer spending spree, then you can get odds of 750/1 on them playing second-tier football next season. Stranger things have happened, but not often.
